Why do I have an awesome blade sat in the garage but due to being off work and not being able to ride it do I find myself looking at 600rrs instead of.fireblade. Anyone else do this or made the swap.
I had an 05 600RR a few years ago, was great fun on the road but found it frustrating on trackdays as was used to litre bikes and its a very different way of riding... I do confess to lusting after a carbed R6 though...
I've always had 600 and do love how you have to ride them. Tbh find myself riding blade a bit like a 600 lol
I’ve never had a 600 sportsbike but I imagine when/if I ever get one I’d ring it’s neck and transfer that to a litre bike. And I don’t have the skills for that
Had an r6 great fun , however on long days out got sick of up and down the gearbox all the time , to keep the thing at 7000rpm or more so it had useable power . Swapped to the blade for easy riding .
I got shut of a 05 636 mid last year and honestly I absolutely adored it! Could just ring its neck everywhere and be nowhere near the edge.. great bikes in my opinion the 600 class I’d have another tomorrow. I bought it because I hardly go out so couldn’t justify a 2016 ZX10R sat in the garage depreciating but now find myself in the same boat again with the blade wondering WHYYYYY!
Had two R6s, a GSXR 600 and Cbr 600rr before I moved onto litre bikes. I too have been searching for another 600 and I enquired about this beauty over the weekend and the dealer rang me today to say It had been sold
Been out on the 600 more than the Blade last year. Plenty quick enough and doesn't need to be revved as hard as the R6 to get it going, lot of fun having to work and ride the bike harder. 1000cc makes you lazy but couldn't be without one.
I’ve just gone the other way and got rid of my mint little 600rr and bought the fireblade, having only been out on the blade 2 short times I can tell straight away its going to be easier to ride in one aspect but have to respect it a lot more but I won’t miss being up and down the gears all the time and having to make sure I’ve got it ready to ping out the corners, the fireblade I couldn’t believe the grunt out the corner in what I thought was a higher gear!! Do miss selling the 600rr and if I ever went back for whatever reason I’m not sure I’d get something as clean and low miles as that bike was and it was what some consider the best made 600rr being an 08!
If you think you can wring the arse off a 600, try a 400, smiles per miles on every stretch of road. As often, sometimes less is more, riding a modern litre bike on public roads is like in being bed with Kylie but there’s in invisible force field down the middle of it, so fooking frustrating.
I've just completed my first year as a biker on my 600. Commute on it everyday and love every second of it. Will be looking at moving up to a bigger engine next year.
That forcefield is because you live in Kent. I'm in Northumberland and use it and Cumbria with the Scottish Borders as a bit of a playground. Get up a little early at the weekend and it's brilliant so you do get to abuse both the empty roads and the bike in equal measures Just watch out for sheep !
Yep With you on that one Paul, beautiful part of the country up there, when we stayed in Northumberland in October couldn’t believe how empty the roads were, where as down here they still want to build more and more houses and concrete over more and more countryside, something will have to give in the end as the region can’t support much more development.
