Hi all, I need to pick your brains.

Im looking at a bike that has a 44 tooth rear sprocket. Up 2 from oem.

From what i jave read it can help acceleration which is good but i noticed the chain guide is pulled right forward so its completely out of the green zone on the swing arm.

I have read some reports that this shortening of the wheelbase can make it wheelie and tip in quicker but be flighty at high speeds. It will also put the speedo out by about 10% over reading.

Is this something noticable or am i reading too much into it? It has the oem sprocket so i can always change it back.

    What are your experiences?

I wouldn't let the sprocket size put you off the bike, it is a common upgrade. I run mine 1 less on the front and 2 up on the rear, it doesn't turn it into a wheelie monster really, the power is easy enough to control. Yes the speedo will will be a few percent out, I think you can get a "SpeedoHealer" made by Healtech to sort that out though if it bothers you.

I eouldnt let it put me off abike but will do what you said.
I have -1 front and +1 rear but doesnt wheelie much. I fitted a speedo healer , think it was about 80 quid to put clock right

If the rest of the bike looks as good as the rear wheel, then I think u got a cracker.

Ha ha funny you would say that! But have you noticed the difference?

Not sure if the photo shows it but it was sprayed as a race rep by Honda before it was registered so has a black frame. I do love a Repsol.

To be honest im a bit nervious declaring its mine as i have had a bumpy old time getting a bike. The first was a dog from a dealer that got returned in hrc colours, the second a black edition was owned by an idiot who messed me about something rotten and sold it to a dealer while simultaneously promising he would deliver the bike to me. He did not even have the decency to tell me. I found out when i saw his bike for sale at a dealers! There was even 2 adds on autotrader, a private and a dealer selling the same bike. T#at. Sorry but it still annoys me. And now on to this. Fingers crossed all works out well but i must say i have met my fair share of fools so far but this seller seems a lovely bloke.

Pics will follow when it arrives.

Looking at the pic it looks like your spindle block is the wrong way round , the spindle should sit in between two raised edges
    On the block
    .... corect me if I'm wrong. ....

Thanks for spotting it but i dont entirely know what you mean. Have you got a pic of how it should look? The previous owner changed the sprocket.

haha nice one pal glad you found something and can’t wait to see more pics, the rims look very similar to mine where they’re a different type of orange to the standard repsol rims too!
Looks clean enough from that back rim pic but like others have said get that rear sprocket block turned around the right way

It looks like it just needs the block turning over, which is an easy enough fix

Yes mate, been speaking to the owner and it seems its just facing the wrong way i.e the swing arm. It was a mistake when fitting. Phew

If it’s not as @Boothman says, then the blocks may be on the wrong side. The one in your picture looks like what the nut side should be.
