Has anyone revalved the standard 2015 cbr1000rr shock. Been talking to gav at race hq and he was saying k tech do a piston kit for it and he can also revalve it to make it a lot better , just wondering if anyone else has had this done and if it makes a big difference instead of having to fork out on ohlins etc .
Thats it mate. Been told be looking at about £250 for std shock revolving and servicing etc so a lot cheaper than say ohlins, was just wondering if its money well spent
You struggle to find out anything about revalving most people say it is night and day better, but it depends on whether you have put the effort in to set up your suspension or just sent them in blind
Servicing the shock and maybe changing the spring to one more suited to your weight can work a treat! Are you removing the shock yourself?
I've just been speak to Darren at MCT suspension about getting my front forks and shock serviced on my 2013 blade, he did say the front forks are over sprung from factory and would be better with a more suited spring for my weight then with regards to the rear shock he said it just needs a good quality oil and service to make it work better.
I have done research and a few spring calculators, nothing is black and white, It seems it is all on riding stile as much as weight. I have spent a lot of time setting up mine and considering respringing, I am not far off for weight but would like to know what difference it would make to be right
we do off road k tech at work and I can get the road stuff . after speaking to them and with budget in mind I was told get standard shock with a piston kit and service and it's as good as an ohlins with out expensive gold paint . so that's what I'm planning.
Thats awesome to know as thats what Gav at racehq said to me to do for my shock so will definately.get that done now
