hi i have just removed the headers off a 2017 sp to cut the cat out and (hopefully) fit a link pipe to fit the austin gp1r can , so the bikes done about 4000 ish miles so would you replace the gaskets or will thy still be ok , thanks .
ffs, any idea how you can remove the old header gaskets , these are a pain and cant get them out , cheers
This may help, although if they are still in good condition, some say just leave them in. Exhaust Gasket Removal | Honda CBR 1000RR Forums
Hi can someone tell me what i could put on the gaskets to hold them in place while i fit the headers ? and is there a certain way the gaskets go in the head as there seems to be a bit of a seam on one side , thanks for any advice.
Little smear of general purpose grease should help keep them in place if they wont sit by themselves.
cheers , did it and all done now , just need to wait for a dry day ( as the missis might say summat if i start it up in house , lol ) to fire it up and hope theres no leaks anywhere , fingers grossed .
Looking good. Will you post a pic when fairings back on so can see the whole bike? I’m undecided what to get yet but this is most likely.
I got an Austin Racing slipon on my 2017. I still have the cat though. Leave the cat cos the fkr will be too loud otherwise for the road - My Austin has the baffle in all the time and is at a reasonable noise level
i have both baffles in now, as i took the middle one out and is was way too loud , but its not that bad now , lol
My Austin Racing slipon was actually from my 2016 - I had an adapter and hanger made so it fits the 2017
