Hey, New to here, literally signed up. Need a bit of advice, just bought a 2017 ballistic black Fireblade for £9k with 11000 miles on. So firstly, went to tax it 5 mins after it being delivered and it showed that it hadn't been MOT'd and ran out in October 2020. Grrrrrr! Then after the ever apologetic Honda dealership they have thrown in a couple of goodies which is decent of them seeing as one of those goodies is a £200 seat cowl! However, I have just noticed that there is coolant/antifreeze blue green coloured substance underneath the belly pan directly under the down pipes. No sign of a leak but clearly a very small puddle there and seems only when I've turned the bike off and it starts to cool... it had a major service with valve clearance check on the 8/1/2021 so is it just over filled, leaking from a forgotten done up pipe somewhere or leaking from somewhere serious. Radiator appears to be fine and couldn't find any drips. This normal for paying cash outright for a bike? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum - my two pennyworth would be to report it to the dealer, get them to investigate and resolve.
Difficult to say but as you’ve got it from a dealer its their problem to resolve. Hopefully its something of nothing but don't be fobbed off.

Cheers man, its shocking to be honest, they even said it went through 2 service delivery departments and didn't notice that it wasn't MOT'd, to miss the leak as well and now to possibly fail the MOT test tomorrow on this leak well I've lost confidence in the bike to be honest. Proper gutted!!!
Just sounds like someone has made a mistake and they'll rectify it for you. I'm not sure why you'd lose faith in the bike. It's a main dealer from the sounds of it, they'll sort you out. You can take it further then if they don't.
I bought my bike brand new from a dealer, apparently had the pre delivery inspection done prior to picking it up. When I got it home I had to adjust the brake and clutch leavers, adjust the chain, set the speedometer from km/h to m/ph and charge the battery.
Welcome to the forum , I reckon it's been over filled, same thing happened to mine last year when I over filled with coolant, syphoned some out and not had a problem since .
Is there a coolant expansion bottle on the 2017 model, is the coolant on the Max, or over the max? Hopefully you get it sorted pal!
Hey Mate - I got a 2017 and for the first time one month ago on my Tassie trip my CBR was burping cooolant. Bike was running at very high temperatures in traffic ~106-7degC ODO: 50000km A mates 2017 with 150000km has been doing this for a while every now and then and he just tops up the coolant bottle with water. I was stranded in a multi level carpark in Hobart with temp around 107 and decided I wasnt going to leave until I could tip new coolant directly into the radiator rather than via the coolant bottle on the inside of the rear mudguard. To cut alot of long bullshit short - I reefed on the small fairing panel on the top RHS and it popped out allowing access to the radiator cap. I added coolant directly to the radiator and the problem went away and has not come back even in traffic. It indicates that the coolant was worn out as far raising boiling point. Flush your radiator and change your coolant guys every 1-2 years.
