MSV provisional calendar says this is a standard trackday date at Oulton on a Wednesday. I've booked the day off work and will be booking once it goes on sale if anybody local fancies it.
Can you book some dry weather too, if so I might come and join you, last 3 there have been wet ones for me
I'll do my best mate. Last year I defeated the weatherman good and proper, he had said I would definitely get rain with a good chance of thunderstorms. It was dry all day with hot sticky conditions. Be nice to see the new Blade going round too, what group do you normally go in?
Yeah the new blade did go round there but found I was using 1st gear for most corners to get good drive out of them. Usually run in inters as this bike is my road one too and I'm hoping Michelin have brought out their new Power GP in a 200 rear by then, the Power 5 was OK but had the back let go a few times in the dry knocking my confidence a little in them. Just looked now and then track day clashes with a James Whitham 2 day track day I was going to do, however there is another JW one in July so may do that one instead unless you want to come to Wales, Anglesey track doesn't disappoint and the JW ones have less riders and instruction, great fun.
All the JW dates over the summer months are showing fully booked on the website? They must sell out fast!
I'm keeping an eye on the MSV website everyday so as soon as they release the bookings for the rest of the trackdays I'll put it up on here. I imagine they might sell out fast aswell.
I'm guessing they need to do this to claw some of the money they've lost over all these lockdowns. I've booked a two day event with JW at Anglesey in April, just hoping it goes ahead as it's not long now, only 8 weeks away.
Yea its a bit of a bugger but it will still feel like good value once you use TDRBIKE20 for 10% off and you get a sunny day.
I wouldn't worry about the price increases anyway, as soon as I win the Euros I'll be buying Oulton and running it at cost for bikes only .
Night and day! Think I'd probably have to buy all the surrounding houses to stop any noise complaints too.
Thats 2x 1 in 114 million chances we have of it happening then. The good news is our chances are about the same whether we buy tickets or not
Well you have to be in it to win it.......that's what I always say........but what a playground to have should it come true!
I've just booked up Silverstone. It's one of those that I need to do, just once to experience. With that in mind I can't winge at MSV. What's your take on the Akrapovic exhaust on these things? Worth getting an OEM for track days and are they quick and easy to fit? I'm just nervous of noise. I did ask on FB but I've got "it'll pass" "it won't pass" the big one, "I got black flagged for excessive drive by noise. What a track, i'm yet to ride it but it's on the list!!! I can't wait for you boys to win the Euros then. Please make sure I get an invite!
Have you got the removable baffle for it? There's a big difference when I put mine in. I doubt v much it'll pass with it out
They aren't called megaphone for no reason . My advice would be if you've already got the baffle for it then spend £15 on a decibel meter to perhaps check you aren't going to fail miserably. If its close with the baffle in or indeed fails then you'll need to spend £40-60 on ebay getting the stock can. They are very simple to fit, especially if you aren't bothered about reconnecting the servo cables.
@Sam.moz86 if you haven't got the baffle I've got one you can have as I got a new one. I took it out of my SP after I bought it and it was well stuck in due to being stood for a couple of years. We dinked the inner part removing it but that's just cosmetic. There is a slight dink in the outer part which I've highlighted but guess this can tap out?!? Anyway it's perfectly fine for sticking in for trackdays or mot. It'll save you 50 quid if nothing else
