Had my first jab yesterday. No problems so far. Second head has not yet started growing and no hairs on the palms of my hands Yet.... I had the Oxford AZ version. Wife is in for her first jab today...
Got a text on Friday and had it Saturday morning. Was scratching my head a bit as to why because I'm fit and shouldn't have been due age wise. Doc told me it was because of my bipolar....seems it classes you as vulnerable so anyone else who's a bit squirrelly out there you can expect the call
cant wait to get mine but im 40 so cant see it being for a wee bit yet, my bro is 36 but has pshirioisis or whatever its called and classed as vulnerable because of all the steriods and weak imune system and he got it last week and went really ill, in fact he said it was that bad he doesnt want the 2nd job. speaking to loads of older customers of mine who have had it though and at worst theyve all been abit drowzy for a few days so he must be an odd one!! think its amazing what all the people involved are doing and makes me proud to be british instead of all the downbeating this country seems to get all the time! just hope everyones sensible as we come out of lockdown more.
Mother in law had the AZ jab, still as miserable as ever, so hard to tell if there’s any side effects.

Pfizer here. No side effects apart from the nurse who jabbed me. Let's just say she'd probably had a hard day, but when the needle came out the other side of my arm... well, miserable old bugger she was. "Go and stand by table 1. That's the wrong side. This side! Seen a Dr lately/" "Yes I had a titanium hip..." "That's not what I meant..! Which arm?" "Choice of two here... grin" "Roll up your sleeve...!"
Go and book it online. Although it says 65, it will let you book if you're over 60, even if you don't fit into any priority category.
Feel like I've done fairly well to keep away from it. North east rates are largely on the decline, I live and work in the 2 low infection areas in the region. Apprentice comes in today to say his mam has tested positive and has likely been positive since the weekend Sent him to get a test and stay away from the office.
AZ on the 1st week of Feb,felt feverish and had the shivers for the 1st night,sore throat and headache for the next 24 hrs,all gone by the 3rd day not looking forward to the 2nd one though,a lot get a more severe reaction on the 2nd dose,all in all though still better than covid.
Spot on, loads of people in my area who are 60-64 and no underlying issues are being vaccinated, via the NHS link, booked mine last night when I was made aware you could, appointments available all day, everyday from 0800 this morning, and 2nd jab booked at same time for May.
From a very tiny sample (<20 people) that I'm aware of, there seems to be more chance of experiencing mild side-effects from the Oxford/AstraZ jab than the Pfizer one. That said, I'm sure we'd all rather have side effects than full on Covid any day. I'm due to get my first vaccination this Saturday at St Thomas' Hospital in central London - suspect it's more likely to be the Pfizer than the Oxford one just because it's at the hospital, but then again a colleague's mum had her injection at her doctors surgery in London and that was Pfizer.. For me, the most disappointing aspect is that my parents in Lincoln are still waiting for their first dose, with promises that their doctor will call them "soon".
Yep - same here, although have to go up to the hospital for mine, but as I've said on another post, gives me a good excuse to take my bike out. I wonder if I will be able to use "side effects from the jab" as an excuse if I should get caught getting a little carried away on my bike on the way home...
yeah I’ve spoken to bloody loads of my customers who’ve had it and barely any have had anything other than a mild bout of tiredness etc, I think he was just being a soft arse My mum will make sure he goes for his second jab! Can’t wait to get mine whenever the 40 years old are due them
Had my 1st. jab mid week, OxfordAZ, head ache and sleepyness next day plus feeling like I've been punched in the arm. Arm still aches now 2 days later. Had Covid in early January, don't want that again.
