I actually got out yesterday, but was wet and roads were covered in mud and diesel which resulted in me having to give bike a proper going over.
Went out today for a quick ride with a few pals, just a shake down after having so many bits apart from me and the bike rode amazing, everything’s so effortless and enjoyable! Only shitter was somehow one of my new crash bungs came loose and fell off, mustn’t have tightened it properly but mad how it’s totally loosened itself right off about 10 turns then fell off! Just need to see if r&g will sell me a bung on its own
That would be cadwell park in February. 6 degrees first time on slicks. Felt mint upto that point. This image is 5 laps before the high-sided
Cheers pal I’ve emailed r&g as there’s nothing on they’re website selling singles so see what they come back with!
Went to the supermarket to buy supermarket type stuff in accordance with the rules - and they moved it - I am sure it was here somewhere Never mind, I will have to ride around to see if I can track it down to where they have moved it to !
What excuses did everyone have formulated in their heads for if the worse were to happen and they got pulled over? Asking for a friend who said he wants to go out for a small ride on Saturday
As far as I remember reading the White Dalton site, their solicitor mentioned this a while back. He indicated that solo bike with helmet gave as much chance of catching/passing on virus as bikes being exempt from any speeding laws and the impression was that gov. had included motor cycling as a recreation. But I've heard plod objecting, using the reason that if you have an accident you're taking up the resources that could be used elsewhere. As that could be said for falling down stairs as well, I don't think it's a decent reason. Depends how eager the plod are in your area. I've been out a few times and not seen a traffic patrol let alone been stopped.
Towards the end of autumn it was perfectly legal and fully allowed to go motorcycling on your own but still not meet up in groups etc. However I think that changed with this latest lock down where the emphasis was shifted to 'non-essential ' journeys and if you must make a journey it should remain local, in your part of town etc. The wordings and phrases used on the government Web site are much more specific now and if you got stopped I'm pretty sure you would get a £200 fine, unless you happened to be wearing a back pack with some groceries in it or a top box stuffed with bread????
You're absolutely correct Paul, the present wording is a lot stricter than before. As I mentioned, I've been out a couple of times since the New Year, used shopping as an excuse and went the long way round without pushing it too far, had an MOT and "needed" to test the bike, but recently been seeing the numbers of bikes (and cars) rising steadily around here. Pity really as, the accident/resource reasons apart, an hour on the bike is about the safest transport/recreation you can get virus wise.
I need a couple of gutter clips so I'll just order them from a screwfix a few towns over and go pick them up.
Quite a few out today. Police come past all the time and don't bother. As long as you're not taking the p#ss or riding in groups you're fine around here. You can travel to take exercise somewhere and for other reasons apart from shopping etc.
