Z cars? While all my mates had corsas and seat ibizas I went and got a mini mayfair! Loved it although it was a temperamental little thing Called it Rowan after Mr Bean
Good move - a far better driving (and mechanicing) experience! Not a Z. I fitted Suzuki Swift GTi motive power
Wheel Chocks been getting the way and collecting dust so decided to put it to good use. I bought this originally to use in a van for transporting the bike to track days but has only been used once a couple of years ago and when I picked the R1 up. So I've decided to use it in the garage now, I can ride the bike straight in now and secure the bike upright and not have to lean in towards the wall or put side stand down. Makes it a dam sight easier to put it on the paddock stand too ! Only down side is i can't use steering lock
Finished the refurb of the D&D. Happy enough with the finish. Spent last weekend with a few beers, Spotify and a lot of autosol...spent today with a can of exhaust paint...Waiting on an exhaust clamp to come after having to cut the rusted old cheap one off - Refit next weekend...then onto front discs, fork rebuild and it'll be ready for MOT...Just in time for some sunshine!!
The battery on my bike needed replacing (it worked okay, but I could tell it was aged and not cranking effectively). Decided to go for a Shido Li battery, and bought a Optimate Lithium to match. Weight saving was astonishing (1.54kg): All fitted (with foam spacers to fill the gap, and added the cable to easily charge it): Out of curiosity, I measured the voltage with the ignition on (12.57v). Also I measured the minimum voltage during cranking (8.95v), which I thought was quite good. Is this type of stuff interesting to anyone? Just wondering thats all. I regret not measuring the minimum cranking voltage with the old battery. Never mind.
My shido is still going strong too. Used to take it out over winter and keep it in the house nice and warm but this winter I didn't bother and it started fine!
My Shido on its 4 season now...It’s off the bike and indoors over winter. It’s been on 3 different bikes and never charged. Excellent choice sir....
Where did you source those replacements mate? Been planning on giving that connector some attention when I finally make it back to England (and my bike!).
My friend eBay - item No. 161470778271 They are listed as Land Rover but Honda, Suzuki in the description. The pattern is: Sumitoma HD090 Can't find the male equivalents separately... yet
Contacted eBay seller. He does the 090 male pins - select the female listing and message to seller and request the male pins. Sorted. Arrived in post...
Bike had its first MOT for 2 years yesterday (Covid MOT extension and winter hibernation had timed itself perfectly). First time trying out the Translogic quickshifter aswell, I am very impressed. I've owned a BMW XR with a factory QS and spent a day on a Triumph with a factory QS but I'd say this aftermarket Translogic on the blade is even better. There is literally no notice of it going into gear, no clicks or bumps etc. The feel on the lever is incredible too, I was worried it might give the lever a vague feeling, but it hasn't. It still feels precise and direct. I have added a gearshift support aswell that no doubt helps. 2Machs in Northwich did the MOT, he's a top bloke and well worth considering if anybody needs anything. Got a bit of a shock when I taxed it.....£96! What a rip off. Treated her to a new garage mat aswell.....
