Yesterday. I was very stupid and forgot to do the basic checks before getting it out for the first time in weeks. But I wasn't going far was I? Just popping out for my second fix of Pfizer. It seemed awfully heavy to push and then wobbled horribly in corners. You guessed it. Flat rear.
Finally got round to installing the Performance Parts tail tidy - now that the rain has gone and sunny days are here (we hope ! ) Got a gold Tsubaki chain going on next.....
added the boots guards and the end can,and the r&g tank protection that looks like a fucken aero, bubbles everywhere, that stuff is pure shite, now looking for asv levers ,and new boots .
Anyone out there that can make a decent guess of what those R&G boot guards are made of? I've some bits of carbon on the frame and swingarm where my boots started to rub currently, but with my carbon frame and swingarm covers going on I'll now be wanting to stop the carbon getting scuffed; and the frame covers I've got cover up the holes in the frame so the R&G ones would look shite if I put them on. I figure it's just some kind of tough and rough surfaced kinda sticky-backed plastic, about 0.3mm to take a random guess?
Possibly the same as protector film for paint or, for more heavy duty, the load protection film that you can buy for estate cars and vans...
Good plan, I reckon that load protection stuff would be the go; designed to resist knocks and abrasion. Thanks for the great info again man, you're a veritable fountain of knowledge!!
Pretty much any paint protection film would do, not sure why R&G make them so big. I made one for where my boot occasionally touches the frame.
That place also work as your murder dungeon Mattie? Plenty of plastic to stop the spray. Suspension setup was done on Tuesday, 1st service tomorrow. Looking like a cold 3c or so 40 mile ride at 9 in the morning. Hopefully be worth the £215 though.
That is the underground car park at work - empty at the weekends. That plastic is put up by the building maintenance crew and it moves around the car park - it stops paint and dust going onto everyone's cars (and bikes !) I hope your tyres had as chance to warm up on the run to have the service - a bit cold !
Busy day in the garage on the 400 New wheel bearings, rebushed forks, dropped steering stem and cleaned and repacked bearings, getting there bit by bit ready for the summer
Loads better. I can now feel that I've got tyres and it's stopped the tramlining. It's also stopped belting me in the back when I ride over our lovely road surfaces. @Mattie660 - was a cold one. Plenty of dual carriageways, cruise control and alternate hands getting a warming from the engine.
Not quite sure how it got to this stage, only set out on a new set of tyres for the MOT........and still not got around to the shim check on the Blade . Great little motors these V4s, but a dogs to work on for access.
