Got my black blade back after it was stripped to find a fault which was fruitless so the bloody thing might be going Just noticed that the 2 tubes that I believe are a breather and drain?!? havnt been put back where they usually go on the blades. Down and thru the hole for them in the bottom plastic belly bit.....as they are on the sp in pics 1 & 2. The narrower tube is in place but doesn't come out in the gap...in fact I don't know where the open end to it is. Pic 3 The thicker tube has been fed thru at the top and has ended up on the opposite side. I tried to pull it from the correct side but wherever the end bit is its trapped. Pic 4 I'm presuming if honda designed it for the tubes to drop vertically down and the ends to be free then there's a reason. Sorry I'm not technically minded. Do I need to go get them to rectify this or will it be ok as it is? Cheers
my RR5 had two breather pipes, both came down the left side and exited below the gear lever, as per your SP
Yep my 11 repsol did too. The tubes have always been placed like that after previous work on it....but not this time. My concern is....will their current position stop or impede them doing whatever function they do?
Not sure if it will impeed, but it should be easy enough to pull them through and route them down the correct side I would have thought?
The larger hose goes to the fuel tank. When you lift the tank that hose pulls itself out from where its routed. You need to remember to route it back down as you lower the tank. You might be able to hook it out and move it back to the correct side, if not you might need to lift the tank up again. The smaller hose goes to the coolant reservoir, that one has probably been dragged up a little bit by the large hose moving upwards. You should be able to get that smaller hose out and put it back down where it belongs.
Agree with @CharlieR85, the fat one is from the tank filler area and you don’t want that one getting kinked or obstructed and any build up in it.
Assuming it is the same arrangement as on my RR8, Looks like they lifted the fuel tank and have jammed the hoses under it when lowered. You should have them correct it. both shold comfortable be long enoug to come out of the fairing with a 1~2 cm spare length. Or do it yourself You don't want neither fuel nor the fumes where there should be! Routing of those 2 hoses is a good indication of the quality and workmanship of the mechanic
When the 2nd hand prices come back down to a sensible level I'm looking at either a superduke 1290r/ mt10sp or tuono factory.... low mileage couple of years old
Wish you a happy new life after cbr that’s the problem I find with products made recently. Lot’s of gizmos and showroom appeal but near impossible to service and maintain (even the dealers are usually clueless)
I've still got a blade....can't see me ever not having one I love them... Just fancy a bit more of an upright bike for a bit. Don't fancy all the electronics though like you've mentioned they're wasted on me and just scream expense! But it's the way things have gone now
Shit, I’ve sold bikes when they have had issues before, but a misrouted breather hose , bet they go hide in the parts store when you walk in Loz
Even the old sit up and beg Chopper seems to have ushered in an era of electronics and we didn’t even know it
Was just talking to @bazzashadow about them back in the day and how you used to get clobbered by your parents for fecking the soles of your shoes up as brakes
