My only thought is that they would interfere with filtering, which I do a lot of, generally, and really quite enjoy too. Indicators built into the headlights is a good excuse to do a full headlight mod IMO, if you do get on with that mirror placement. There's tons of threads out there on doing it.
Yeah. That’s something I considered. I’ve just been out for a good ride with both. Massively prefer the stock ones so they’ve gone back on. They’re okay, but i prefer being able to glance at the bigger stock ones rather than try move to see the little ones. Look good for photos tho haha
Are they the cheapo ebay mirrors? …I tried a few on my Super Duke but sent them all back, one set r the load of the wind Went back to standard KTM Powerparts mirrors
Fitted new plugs in the RR7 last night to try and solve a cutting out problem at 8000 revs that has been getting less intermittent and more frequent, Only did it under load when the secondary injectors came in , not as bad with V power fuel . Fingers crossed it seems to be ok now Edited to say ,,,,,, its not sorted
Could do with a good wash but pepper it to use for the commute tomorrow so atleast it will see the light of day. It has a little companion in the garage now too, my dad has been without a w wheeler for a few years now. Since getting this I keep catching him making 2 stroke noises It HRC adopted Dont ask me what it is other than a Lambretta, slow for one
I haven't used it yet. The bike isn't road registered and I only use it on the track. Next track day is in a week.
Took the private registration off, quite impressed with no charge from bikesure for the amendment. Was expecting to have my pants down to the tune of £30
Ordered and fitted boot guards to the frame - overpriced for what they are but that’s life. Trimmed the tops as I had no intention of attaching the R&G logos and looks daft with the circular cutout. I suppose it’s fortunate they don’t need to be that tall so cutting down to remove the logo cutouts doesn’t detract from their function.
Did you end up with enough spare material to fill in the cut out for the swingarm bolt by any chance? Got a set of carbon frame covers going on that don't have the cut out and have been contemplating putting those R&G stickers over the top.. Stock or aftermarket bearings?
I didn’t fit the ones on the swingarm as I had already crafted ones out of 3M clear helicopter tape same as I originally sorted for my old Repsol (apologies but I haven’t got photos of the black swingarm with them on) I also did the heel plates with it
Aftermarket - All Balls Taper Bearing Kit purchased from M&P (UK). Had to buy a new lock-washer from Honda. The old one was split and had obviously been refitted previously (smh).
Oh my. I've only done a trivial mileage in the last year and a half but today I trundled the bike out to have lunch with my brother. We know a nice carvery that splits the distance between us. Top up the fuel on the way. And the ABS light is flashing... OK I know this can foretell disaster, Armageddon, bankruptcy and the end of the world but what is it usually? It's overdue a service on the calender so do I just stick it in and get an opinion? Or is the book method for this (a la Range Rover air suspension) change the most expensive bit first and repeat until fixed (if ever).
Haven't had this problem myself but I've read enough times to know that there's two options, depending on preference: 1. Remove system completely. 2. Upgrade to later Bosch system. In light of a potential disaster with my brakes, I know which I would choose.
My 2012 did this a couple of times. I had no ideas about the fault so phoned the dealer who just said - probably electrics, turn it off and on again. which I did and it went away. Second time I took it in and got it back later with light gone. No charge but didn't have any scare moments either and it didn't happen again.
I replaced the broken brake lever from the trackday with a TWM folding lever but couldn't do the clutch as Bikers Discount Store have sent me the wrong lever. Have contacted them but the lever sent is for a cable clutch and the 2007 CBR1000RR has a hydraulic clutch. Anyway, pleased with the brake lever so hopefully they can sort out the clutch side soon. Threw away the garbage frame sliders that the brackets snapped when the bike dropped off the paddock stands and fitted some R&G sliders. Really like these, they look good quality. Required the fairing to be cut but that's really easy and these are track fairings so I don't care about cutting it. Finally built up the new oxford paddocks stands to replace the ones that failed. I repaired the failed ones and put them on the drive as a 'free, please take' bargain and a guy drove past and picked them up for his sons 85cc motocross bike which they'll be totally strong enough for. These oxford stands look a lot stronger and am very happy with them.
Long story short, but after valve check on the 94 RRR, one of the cam cover bolts sheared on retightening, access was a nightmare and it was a few threads inside the bolt hole, first thing I did, was just covered the thing over and walked away for a week and kicked the crap out of the cat, well the neighbours cat as we don’t own one. After a lot of grey matter energy was used, started to gather together the bits required to hopefully extract it without dropping the engine, procured high quality left handed drill bits, and the key was a very long drill bit extender rod that accepted round bit shanks, couldn’t buy one for love nor money, only ones I could find took hex bits. Then chance conversation over a beer with one of the lads father in laws who claimed he used to have one, after a week of searching his garage he found the little bugger ! It just gave enough clearance of the frame spar to get the bit on square and too my surprise didn’t cut into the bolt but with heavy pressure and a very very slow rotation speed started to walk the bolt out Took about 30 mins and once a few threads were visible unscrewed it with needle nose pliers and second surprise was no thread damage, anyway been and made up with the neighbours cat, took it a couple of live mice to play with
