I'm considering changing the Scorpion Serket Taper on my 2017 for a Racefit Growler-X. Is anyone on here running one? I'd be interested in your opinion. How loud is it primarily?

Racefit system will always be loud especially if you’ve took the cat out, I’ve got a couple of 500mm long racefits on bikes and they are pretty loud.

Racefit are hilariously loud; after 30 mins or so it would start to get on my nerves and that’s with earplugs in :)

    Do it. They are awesome!

I'm pretty sure I will, just deciding which model to go for. I like the look of the Growler-X, it looks similar to the AR GP1 a mate had on his Daytona R, which sounded ridiculous.

I bought an Austin Racing GP1 off a member on here and only had 2 rides with it on my bike until I wrote it off and can confirm they sound nuts on a blade, it was very loud and aggressive..... maybe I'm still like a wee boy deep down inside ( even though I'm 47 ) but I did like it. Only downside is after 3 hours it's a bit much.

Just for a change took the baffle out of my Leo Vince for my weekend rides sounded brilliant but after a few hours noise became tedious so baffle back in on Monday, good luck with the Racefit.

The Growler-X is ordered. There isn't a baffle option so watch this space for a review and possibly the chance to acquire a very lightly used, very loud exhaust in the not too distant future.

welcome to the world of deafness and ringing in your ears after a good ride out!!!
if you like a noisy can you'll love it, since i decatted and had mine reflashed it sounds even better with the pair valve still active as he said i can just unplug that anyway without any fault lights coming on but the popping off throttle and the quickshift sound is mega!
if you get chance to go pick the pipe up if your not far away from them i'd suggest going as its a cracking little place and the guys got so many great stories.
very light pipe too and really well built!

Well, it's on and it's loud. Ridiculously loud. It does sound good though. I'll keep it on until I get pulled. It probably won't be long.

Haha mate I know the feeling, my new bike has an Akrapovic on it but I have my old Austin Racing GP1 in the garage and I'm getting drawn towards changing them

I wasn't quite prepared for how loud it is. The cat is in the headers on mine so I thought it might tame the sound a bit. Maybe it does, which would make a full system insane. I suspect the AR GP1 and the Growler-X sound pretty similar. I chose mine partly because of the resemblance.

Hi mate, I have a Growler X still in the box and am a bit reluctant to fit it to my SP. I had a growler on my old RR8 and it properly messed up the fuelling, particularly low down so had to fit a power commander. How has the Growler X affected yours. Cheers Pete.

It didn't make any difference, as far as I could tell, but then I have already had my bike mapped to suit a Scorpion Serket Taper without the baffle. I figured that, with the Cat in the header, swapping the Scorpion can for a Racefit would be OK.

I like my race fit exhaust because when I am 4 miles away from home my wife comes out of the house and unlocks the garage door for me, .:D

When i first got my bike with a growler fitted i thought it was too loud and got a baffle for it. Now im used to it and love it. I do wear earplugs though. Sounds awsome and have only used the baffle for mot time. Enjoy

If you have old ears like me, the loud pipe can become tiring (I experimented with disconnecting the exhaust valve omn mine)

And I like to hear the engine sound and screaming more than a loud exhaust although having the wife's welcoming party ready 4 miles before getting home is a tempting proposition:)

I wear ear plugs when I ride, I find not only does it stop the exhaust drone on the motorway but with ear plugs in I can hear everything else clearer. They seem to filter out the loud wind noise and drone, yet let me hear cars and my surroundings better. Every one will have different experiences tho obviously, not everyone gets along with them. It does mean exhaust note can be as loud as you want as a result and that suits me.

Ive had several race fit cans on a few of my blades. My current growler X had attracted the attention of the law enforcers. So i had to send it to race fit, who extended the end, to allow fitment of a baffle. Previously it struggled to start, but with the baffle installed it starts easier. Not sure why that was. The best end can.
