Just wondering those of you who do not take pillion passengers have you removed your rear pegs ? Just curious as I do not take passengers and I seem to think that removing the rear pegs will make the bike look smarter.....or am I just being a pillock?

Removed mine at the weekend, well I say I, it's a good mate that knows his way around a bike that did the deed for me ;) also fitted a new R&G tail tidy whilst he was at it, not easy IMO, I was pacing around the garage like an expectant father whilst he worked his magic, and no certainly not sounding a pillock, it's really enhanced the rear end. :) and it's personal preference at the end of the day :)

I got the bike shop to remove mine prior to collection .Three things(1) it looked like major hassle(2) looks miles better (3) would you want to sit on the back of a blade ? So they have to go. As this type of bike is a (Race bike) but road worthy why would Honda want to make it super hard to get the suckers off? It may be that there are structural design issues and we should not be taking them off to start with .(Please nobody jump on about insurance )it's boring!.

I went to unbolt mine but one of them includes a bracket to hold a cover on. Is there any simple solution or do I have to make something up?

From what has been posted, it sounds like removing the rear foot pegs is different for 06/07 bikes than 08 plus bikes, is that right ? Do the 06/07 come off just by unbolting without removing anything else ?

Also, is there a nice way to cover over the holes, other than to refit the bolts ?

    Cheers

For all you 04/05/06/07 owners, there is a bracket available on ebay for mounting the plastic heat shield cover after removing your pillion pegs.
Or you could do what I did - make your own by spending some time with a hacksaw, file and emery cloth modifying a spare right hand hanger.

Funny you should mention that. I bought one and installed it last night. Works well, if a little pricey for what it is.

Help please............I have removed my pillion pegs and would like to put something in the holes other than the bolts.

Can anyone please advise of what options there are. Preferably I would like to just blend it in rather than make a feature of it, but am open to ideas.

A plain black cap would probably do, but want it to fit well and look smart.

    Thanks in advance.
