Hi all. Im planning a trip which will necessitate my bike being outside for a few days. Im looking at the Oxford Rainex cover in medium. It looks less bulky than the stormex so easier to pack. Although they say medium is for superbikes im not convinced it will fit. Anyone got any experience with these? Good or bad i would like to hear. cheers
I've got a couple of Oxford Aquatex Camo covers. The newer one is lighter than the old one which I've had about 7 yrs. I used it for touring and commuting and it kept the bike dry and folded up fine. I'm presuming they're both M according to the label and there's tons of room over my blade.
Thanks Lozzy thats really helpful. At least i know a medium is the way to go. It looks like the aquatex is even lighter than the rainex so may be even better in a limited luggage space. I just want something to keep the weather and prying eyes off the bike.
Didn’t think you had a man at the mo lozzy Looks like a mans hand Also on lozzy’s advice I have the same cover in medium and it fits fine Good cover
I got a Rainex a couple of years ago. My flatmate also picked one up a few months later. The black material is tough. Apart from leaving red fluff all over the bikes those bits couldn't be faulted. The silver bits however.... They started disintegrating after about a year and by six months later were just tatters. Total ripoff. Avoid like the plague! Changed to Halfords covers which are a very similar material to the black bits of the Oxfords(all over). So far so good. Bikes are still covered in fluff(green for the Halfords). But at least I don't see the covers falling apart like the old ones did.
Thinking about it. Might have been the storrmex. Was the heavy ones. Either way, was the silver's bits that were the problem and both the models used it. Doing a quick search it looks like theyve done away with the silver panels on the stormex. Not bloody surprised.
