    Hi everyone

Has anyone experienced a sticking gear lever when downshifting?

On a typical hour’s ride I’ll get this problem once or twice. What happens is that when I’m downshifting, the gear lever stays down for a moment and I can’t downshift again until the lever pops up - I feel it hit the bottom of my boot. Normally, it’s only for a second or so - but I’ve not experienced this before on a bike.

Most times it’s when I’m changing from 3rd to 2nd.

    I’m using the autoblipper.

I talked to the dealer about this and they said to be more positive with my gear changes.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Hi, I am no expert but had the false neutrels issues from a 2013 bike, If it is a low mileage bike may need a few miles to run in

What the dealer said. If you're certain you're being positive, then you might have a problem, but I'd check you are first.

Thanks for the replies - I’ll also try adjusting the gear lever as it’s a little high.

I get the same thing but on up shifts. Usually when the engine is under more load. Never get a false neutral just feel the lever hit the top of my boot.

How often does this this happen for you? And has it worsened or got better over time?

I have found new boots make a difference depending on the sole thickness & stiffness and it takes time get get the feel of the gear lever after changing boots.

Could be you are dragging your boot on the lever after a change so it does not come back up.
Initially, Change down manually and slower, making a positive foot movement to leave a gap to the lever after each change. Maybe this recalibration will solve your prob
