It turned out to be slightly too good to be true. They sent a standard exo 2000 air which is ok but the manufacturing date is 2015 and I'm not so happy with that. If it's been in its box for that long would its integrity have been affected?
I was reading an article about this the other day and it said they were ok...as its wear with the sweat and stuff that chips away at the lid. Maybe @T.C can confirm that right?
I tried to do some reading on this at lunchtime but couldn't find much that was consistent advice. I would have thought that it would be ok but don't want to find out in an accident that it wasn't given that they're happy to refund and pay for it to be shipped back.
Correct. Its not the manufacturing date that is the issue, it is the heat, sweat and wear and tear that determines whether a helmet is still useable.
