Traded the 821 Monster in for the new GSX-S1000 today, so back on another GSX-S.

Real soft spot for the last one but for me it was undone by the poor fueling at bimbling along speeds. Otherwise great

Liked this new one at fist sight. They have sorted the fueling and made it a bit more 'beautiful' :D

Nothing fancy about it. The motor is peach though.

Looks good. Do you not find the lack of fairing a pain?

Welcome back to the gixxus club. I was considering one of the new ones to replace my 2018MY but have decided to wait and see if they use the new dash from the GTA next year.

A bit, yes. Sportbikes sit so easily in the outside lane of the motorway - completely unruffled !
My old MT-10 was ok as I could sit back a bit on the seat and that brought my head down a bit - still not as good as a sportsbike though. The Monster 821 even less so.

    Thank you.

Good thinking - nice big new colour dash on the new GT. It would be nice to have that on the Gixxus even if they charged another few quid on the new price of the bike.

I do like that clutch assist - whatever it is called ! just blips the throttle a bit when releasing the clutch in traffic. Tons of power, easy to ride - pleased to be back on a Suzuki GSX-S ;)

If that’s ‘more beautiful’ I would hate to see the last one .

The last one looked like this - no, not the 2CV. Everyone seems to think the picture would be better if it was of the 2CV without the Gixxus in the picture at all :D

    Now that was quite tollerable.
Bars were a bit high to attain the 'snuggled in' riding position though...

Yes you are right. I remember when leaning forward having the handlebar mirrors level, or above the level, either side of my ears, which was a bit weird coming from a sportsbike.

I really want to try one of these . I'm 45 soon back and wrists not a fan of being on blade over an hour and at 6.2 traffic a pain . one of these or an mt 09 or 10 is on cards but I'm also tempted by the s1000r too.

I have road tested the new standard MT-09 and did not find it to be very substantial bike in stature. It felt like a little bike to me - a nice bike but a little bike. Fast, all very good.

I was also thinking of getting the S1000R. I went with a mate to have a look at one at Bahnstormer Alton. Did not test ride it, just had a look around it. Looked ok apart from the bread bin of an exhaust that they have not really covered up.

The BMW was on the short list for next year. Even told them at Bahnstormer that I would be back in the spring to do a test ride, so it was on the short list.

The Suzuki - loved the look of it from first sight. I even commented on this forum somewhere about it - "I wants it !" was my reaction :D

Our local dealer took all year to get one - I bought it at first sight, having read all the reviews and specs already.

They have sorted the slow speed fueling and also put a bigger fuel tank on it for some decent range. Lovely riding position - loads of mid range - 4th gear is very useful for a big range of speeds !

The fit and finish has been improved since the previous model.
The dash can be quite busy, but chose this as the most basic - with just the range to empty. You can have all trips and fuel stats if you wish, or just this.

Really liking it so far. Genuinely cannot thinks of anything I do not like about it. It would be nice if it had a USB socket and if the name wasn't such a tongue twister !

    The best angle !
Black version looks best outside, indoors does not really do it justice.

Another picture, taken this week near my Mum's house in the Isle of Wight - along Military Road..

Quite rapid if revved. Suspension could do with some fettling. Might see about upgrading the suspension - or get it fettled properly by a suspension fettling person :D

OE tyres swapped out for Metzeler M9, otherwise bike is still in its stock form.
