Hi guys, what is the normal running temperature on your SC77 when on track?
Mine normally runs 80*C when cruising 60-70mph. This quickly rises to 90 when in a 30mph limit.
Stuck in traffic it soon gets to 100 and the fan comes on but on a warm day at Snetterton I leave pit lane at 78*C and after 3 laps it's up to 90, then 100 after 5 laps.
It stays at 100 for the rest of the session and even after an easy lap after the flag.
When I come in, I stop the engine and leave the fans going.
It has an R&G radiator guard but I don't think this should make much difference.
    Coolant levels are all good.
My old 2009 model would run low 80s on a similar day but that never had a rad guard.

I put a rad guard on mine a few months after I got the bike and haven’t noticed any difference since then. 80 on a run 100 to 104 in slow traffic or in queues. Same now.

Bike is running an Evotech radiator guard. Max temp is 83degrees. And yes, I’ m slow…

Not too slow if you're hitting 163.
Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. What was the weather like?

Not stinking hot, ambient iirc. But generally temp on day doesn’t make much difference in my experience

I removed the radiator guard and found that whoever fitted it put the foam tape right across the top. R&G instructions say cut it into thin strips to stick around the frame.
I'll leave it off for now and see how it goes.

Doubt that’ll make much difference tbh. But it will be interesting to see

I'm assuming the coolant level isn't having to be topped up often ?

I'd check for leaks and if none are found just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start going upto the 110 + range .

An old track bike I had was running a little lean which affected the temps after a few laps as well ...it would run slightly hotter than I like but was never an issue for me at the time.
