    Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has had the same issue as me or knows if this is a product problem or something specific to my bike. I own a 2015 CBR1000RR SP (UK bike) and have purchased some R&G expanding swingarm protectors for it. Product code is SP0058BK. The protectors slide into the axel gap on either side of the bike and are tightened with an expanding mounting block that expands into the gap with a long button head bolt and special nut. The right hand side (as you sit on the bike) one fits fine into the axel gap but the R&G mounting block for the left hand side which fits into the axel gap on the swing arm is too big for the gap! I initially thought this was a product fault and R&G sent me out another one which doesn’t fit either! Has anyone had a similar issue or problem with their 2008-2016 Blade and R&G swingarm protectors!? Thanks!

I had these on my 16 SP. They were fitted when I bought it, and were fine on both sides, so the kit should fit that you've bought.

Yeah definitely doesn’t. When did you buy your bike? Only thing I can think of is R&G are using a different size mold now or more likely my swingarm hole (insert joke!) is too small. I even tried hammering the first one I had in which completely mangled it. R&G were great and sent me a replacement but still doesn’t fit. It’s doing my head in

They were fitted at the time the bike was first sold in 2016

If the R/H side fits but the N/S cannot be inserted, it can only be due to a smaller hole that side of the spindle. If you’re certain that your spindle is a standard Honda item the chances are that at some time in the past some muppet has burred it with a hammer. Check it closely for evidence of this which, if minor, can be rectified by the careful use of a rat tailed file.
