My father died from Covid at the beginning of March. He had recently had his second jab (within about 10 days) but had to go into Hospital for a routine procedure. He was attended to by Asian staff who had refused to have a jab. Within about 7 days he was dead. OK, he was 87 but apparently in cracking health with a good few years left in him, he contracted Covid and was gone within days. Apparently the Hospital had told all staff that they needed to be vaccinated but they could not enforce it, but they still allowed unvaccinated people into close contact with vulnerable people. Wife has had family members contract covid, been very poorly and thankfully recover, but my father has been the only death so far
I'm really sorry to hear that, and please accept my sincerest condolences. The behaviour of the hospital is shocking! Surely daily testing should be compulsory, as a bare minimum?
Yes, the Indian Government really kicked off about the potential stigma & also threatened legal action. As you say, it's odd that they're the only country to require this. Unfortunately, all RNA viruses mutate, and these include the flu. The vaccine makers try to predict how the influenza virus will mutate & produce a new vaccine every year. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they miss completely. It mutates despite vaccines, even in those that choose the flu jab. Covid mutates at about half the rate of flu & a quarter the rate of HIV. There were already around 12,000 Covid variants as of September last year. Viruses mutate for self preservation and often manage to find their way around immune systems, antibody therapies and vaccines. The good news is that they do tend to get weaker, because it's not in their interest to kill their host, certainly not before they can infect someone else. The average person knows around 400 people (some estimates almost double that). I'm really sorry to hear the sad news that people have posted. We're meant to hear later today on a decision about easing restrictions. I can't see it making much difference to me, if I'm honest. All the way through, (Lockdowns aside) I've still had 25 students in a classroom designed to accommodate 20. Had to self isolate once, just before Christmas, when one of them tested positive. A colleague of Mrs B&W (works in an infant school) was hospitalised following her vaccination & has had tests & scans galore. They still can't figure out the problem.
If you get vaccinated you still only have a level or protection that on average is whatever percentage has been quoted for the vaccine you've had, you're not immune. The point of getting to 70-85% is that the transmission rate goes below 1 and therefore the spread of the virus is in remission and the number of people who have the virus tends to zero.
It sounds like a bit of a lottery then? So far, not having the vaccine has proven to be 100% effective for me. Sorry if that sounds selfish. Around 20% of the UK population is under 16, the age group largely unaffected by the virus. They'll all need to be vaccinated, including babies, to get anywhere near 80% of the population. Is that what's being proposed, I wonder?
You would think so wouldn't you? However, I have heard that it is not uncommon because many administrators do not want to be considered racist by getting everyone to test or be seen to be picking on the BAME staff in particular even though they are the ones who in the main have refused or resisted having the jab. Thanks for your condolences though. The reality is that it did not really bother me as we had been estranged for over 20 years since shortly after my mother died and he remarried to a woman who insisted that as a (at the time) 40+ year old was my step mother and I should respect her wishes and cow tail to her. I refused and she got the hump and we stopped talking.
India and China almost at war over their border dispute - next thing India gets its own deadly variant of the WuFlu .........hhhmmm.
My old footie mate 49 years young died of a heart attack several days after having the 2nd Jab, not saying its related, but by all accounts he was fit and well before hand. Edited to say this was last Saturday week
My mum works in a GP and the stories I hear from people who have had their jabs is mad. One person got paralysed from the neck down, only just coming back after about 2 months. One person was fit and healthy, then got full blown MS. Neither of which can be categorically proven it was the jab, and I've still had both jabs, but hey, makes you think.
Whatever variant, it is still the ......WuFlu-4U Seriously. A few people at work who have had their second jabs have felt a bit unwell this time around - including me. It soon passed after some food and sleep.
vaccination is an insurance not a guaranty. reduction in developping the illness and/ or reducing it's impact and increasing the survival chances. There is a lot of misconception out there with people thinking you are guaranteed safety. Like flu virus, every year it is different and varies from country to country. What I don't get is the medical staff & carer constantly moan & complain about the like of PPE (if you were to believe the mainstream media that is) and yet with vaccination being the most effective form of protection, they object to it being mandatory for health workers
Had Covid, first and second jabs (AZ) and today booster (Moderna) so should be super protected - then along comes another variant.
I’ve had both jabs and the booster. Now I’ve got covid. Just saying. I was found to be positive after a pre hospital treatment covid test. I found out yesterday. I don’t really have any of the known symptoms, I just sound a little hoarse and that’s about it. although my sense of smell has gone awol now.
People seem to think if you have the vaccine it protects others, It was only designed to stop people dying, it does not stop you catching it or passing it on, if you look at medical concerns it highlights the fact there will be more people asymptomatic spreading the virus due to being vaccinated. I have seen a few people with heart issues and reactions after the jab, no one knows the long term issues, This vaccine type, mnra has been around since 1960 and not used mainstream, generally on terminal cancer patients it is still now classed as an a non approved vaccine I am happy to take natures chances
My daughters came home at Xmas , one broke out with a cold the day after she arrived, we had been sitting all very close, laughing and playing games together close to each other, she seemed to have head cold, coughing and sneezing and such, we where all living in the same house, so we thought we had better test her, she came back positive for covid-19, so had to have the proper test at the lab, still positive, had to isolate, was negative again after 5 days so we still spent Xmas day together. Now i am not saying that being double jabbed and boosted stopped us all catching covid while a covid person lived with us, but it must have helped? I would rather be vaccinated than not, far to many anti-vaxers in hospital or dying due to covid, here is one recent one: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/hana-horka-final-moments-folk-25997432
The article says she choked to death. It doesn't say if it was because of a lamb chop stuck in her throat! I find it puzzling that our medical professionals are unable to tell whether someone died 'with Covid' or 'of Covid'.. This article is interesting: - https://geopolitics.co/2022/01/19/5...ic6Dd4pQtFWP2X-pAvb7LeGJO_PpnMA3BIBVzpjvfSonI
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/covert-geopolitics/ Overall, we rate Geopolitics to be a conspiracy website that promotes false or unproven claims. (D. Van Zandt 3/23/2017) Updated (3/17/2021) I guess it's down to who you believe, the Latest facts I read was that from double vaccination to non vaccination were: Deaths involving Covid-19 (from a 3 month sample last year) vacinated accounted for 0.8% of all deaths in that group, compared with 37.4% in unvaccinated individuals Although vaccinations have been around for over two centuries, the spread of misinformation has made it difficult for people to understand the truth. As the internet becomes the dominant place for people to get information, fake news spreads, which leads to mistrust. During times of crisis, many people turn to the information and the people they are comfortable with and facts become less important.
There's been a lot of doubt over fact checkers. Facebook in particular had to admit in court that their 'fact checks' were merely opinions, yet they were touted as facts. I wonder who checks the fact checkers? I think there's no getting away from the 99.9% survival rate, nor the questionable wisdom of vaccinating small children, nor the lack of thorough human trials & the deliberate ignorance of natural immunity, nor the Israeli study which has determined a fourth vaccination is of no use. We all know there are some serious & widespread side effects from the current crop of vaccines, and yet this is under reported, if reported at all. Percentage figures of deaths from certain groups must be treated with a degree of scepticism, especially if the criteria is unclear or unstated, or if there is an agenda, such as the Government wants everyone in the country to be administered with an experimental drug, for example. For all we know, they could have taken the 37.4% from patients in the diabetes ward & the 0.8% from the sports injury ward. Haha! I am not sure what so-called conspiracy theorists have to gain from publishing misinformation, but it's not difficult to see why pharmaceutical companies would want to discredit them. To be satirical for a moment - I am thinking of developing a new product to sell. Most people in the world will definitely want it! Trouble is, I want taxpayers money to pay for the R&D. Once it's on the market though & being bought in the millions, I stand to earn shed-loads of money & don't have to pay back the R&D costs. Nor will I be liable if anything goes wrong. The taxpayer will cover that too.. In this scenario I am financially on my knees, partly as a result of great ideas I had in the past that turned to shit. I managed to get sued for millions because of 'malpractice', they said. Stuff like aggressively promoting harmful & highly addictive painkillers, putting asbestos in baby powder etc. Bloody sticklers! Anyway, moving on. Fancy an injection of an experimental drug? Oh bugger! I've revealed my product years before I know what it does! Sounds like a familiar story to me..
