Sad to hear this mornings news about the passing of Meatloaf (Michael Lee Aday) - what a performer, what a showman. His hit album was the sound of my early teens and something that has brought a smile to my face ever since. Was watching the interviews on the BBC this morning and the question was asked by Naga "What was it that he wouldn't do for love?" and was surprised that the response was nobody knows. I have always believed it was 'Lie to her' from the opening lyrics And I would do anything for love I'd run right into hell and back I would do anything for love I'll never lie to you and that's a fact Have I been wrong for over 40 EDIT Oops 29 years (thanks @dgr)
RIP Me and my mate will be playing Bat outa hell tonight on the guitars as a tribute. Friday night is guitar night. Rock on
"and now I'm praying for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive" one of my favourite bits of any song, remember laughing when I first heard it.
Certainly brought back memories seeing the vids on BBC news this morning, lol when the presenter said used to pop a cassette into the cassette player and play really loud whilst driving up the motorway, some younger members of here will be thinking what's a cassette? But a sad day a guy who brought us some memorable music. RIP
Excellent engaging music. The heart and soul that went into his music. Brilliant performer. Even the name was unwoke. Meanwhile we have the likes of Adele crying about some sort of weak bowllocks and she is s(not very good)hit. RIP Meatloaf.
