So I've got a 2014 base model with an akra slip-on. On the overrun the bike surges when the revs come down to about 4k rpm as if the throttle is opened slightly. It's unnerving and sketchy when you want to slow down with engine breaking but it just does the opposite right when you don't need it. As well as the surge I've been told that these new(ish) blades are set up very lean out of the factory up until about 60% throttle and I believe it (feels very lethargic on the bottom end). Question is, will an ecu flash with a custom dyno map be able to sort this out? Is it worth the £460 I've been quoted by Steve Jordan Motorcycles? Also, is it worth getting a quickshifter installed while I'm at it? To be fair the bike takes clutchless upshifts like a hot knife through butter but I've never experienced a quickshifter so thinking might give it a shot for the hell of it. Would be a Translogic one IIRC. Cheers
An ecu flash will be worth it if it’s done right. I don’t know anything about the person who gave you the quote, but I’m sure there will be people on here who has dealt with him who could recommend his services (or not). Get the Translogic quick shifter, excellent piece of kit. I pondered for too long on this subject, now I wouldn’t be without it.
Yep he is pretty reputable from what I've read online. Will definitely go with the quick shifter then cheers.
