Anyone noticed the Guardian (and others) article about new noise detectors being installed in Paris, France. The first is being trialled in the 20th. district eastern Paris to measure the noise level of moving vehicles and to identify their licence plate. ''In the next few months the city will test whether the radar can accurately identify the number plates of roaring motorcycles or cars, after which the equipment will have to be officially approved by authorities by the end of 2022.'' Is this fact or fiction, any thoughts?
Does that mean we can look forward to this shit on top of speed limiters from europe in the next 5 - 10 years? Of course electric motors don't make any noise.
They are installing them in the UK soon too, heard someone talking about the area around loomies bikers cafe being fitted with Ave speed cams and noise cams too costing £700,000
You'd have to be so irritating loud to trigger these things that a heat seeking missile up your arse would be too good for you. Who will mourn a handful of pricks so desperate for attention that they have to annoy the shit out of everyone? It's not going to affect anyone with a fruity pipe that isn't bouncing it off the limiter everywhere.
Governments won't happy until they have forced us all on to EVs. Then in 100 years time people will be moaning about all the millions of used batteries ruining the environment and all move back to IC and steam engines
I'd have to agree. There are deffo just a small handful that just need to be seen! The super loud pipes, I expect these will be the only ones affected are obnoxious, Racefit is on that list! A nice pipe for example should sound lovely and doesn't need to be just LOUD! The obnoxious stuff has been an issue on an MOT for years already, this is just a way to police those outside of MOT time. All IMHO of course
There is nothing better than hearing a bike howling down our outer ring road near my house, add a quick shifter, pure heaven
Well, I got a couple of mates to give me a lift to get the original exhaust on, now waiting for better weather I will report back then
