Just a quick question, how much better are the mono block calipers RR8 onwards I believe to the ones fitted to my RR6 opinions please.
i went from 07... to 09 and on 1st ride i thought wow brakes are better, could be to do with whole bike aswell.... id say defo lots better, then i had a ktm rc8..with brembos oh man rear wheel in air wayyyyy to easy
Dan have you heard if there's much difference between my caliper compared to the later mono blocks? Also heard any reviews on the brembo sintered pads, seen some cheapish ones for sale
Brembo's i think are better than standard! standard wore down well fast on track aswell! can never go wrong with brembo pads, though i got the brembo's that were in the middle spec wise not full on track! SC pads i think i used.... not the best in the wet... but who rides out in the rain
RC are full on track, SC fast road track etc - used these like them way better than standard my own plus 1 but found not the best in wet or when pads cold etc SA are for general road use, never used these, all depends how much stopping power you want, how you ride, price, how long they last etc
No i havnt sorry mate . Only info i have is that My 2007 600 RR had the same brakes as the 07 blades and the brakes on my new blade are feeling a lot sharper but i had put 20k through the last bikes brakes so i may have got used to them gradually as they wore out
too cheap.. prob says from 12.49 a pair... into bikes do this.. say brembo pads 12 pound... but have a small from! i payed around 70-80 ish pounds for set of SC pads quick look.... Yur not wrong there Danny boy ... last year at Snett I did back to back with old but still serviceable Honda pads with a new set of Honda pads .... WOW what a difference Chalk and cheese mate ... as you say you just get used to them gradually getting worse and don't notice ps .... 20K on a set of pads .... wuss Mine were only on 7K and they were only just showing that line down the middle
I was onthe third set of pads and new armstrong discs by 20k lol . I Warped the oe discs and was excepting the brakes to be amazing with thick wavey discs and brand new pads but they still felt the same . Must have been the pistons and seals that wore out coz the Blade was loads stronger
Sounds to me like he is using the brakes to much Nutty, Now if he had worn out three sets of throttle grips !!!!!!! call him a wuss again lol
Good point jamie .... too much braking Dan ya wuss Many years ago when I had my highly tuned Bandit I wouldn't use the brakes a lot because the engine braking was huge But on one occasion I had almost new Galfers fitted and I had a rideout on a really cold day just before Xmas .... anyway short story long I had to brake really hard from silly speed in an emergency on cold discs and ended up with a warped disc .
Dunno about anyone else, but my blades standard front stoppers are good enough on the road, two fingers can tip the whole bike round the front spindle.....rough edged diamond aint i? Lol
