Managed to get a loop over the Wolds in as an October Brucie bonus. Rear tyre is a bit close to the TWI but hopefully another few rides in it, especially as weather tomorrow looks even better than today. One day I'll actually take some photos to post on this thread but normally don't want to stop riding to take any, and there are only so many photos you can take of a bike in a car park
Last ride of the year today me thinks so fuel preserver added, tank filled to the gunnels, ACF50’d, cleaned, polished and put away till spring. I hate the winter months
That’s the last new VFR800F in the UK. We picked it up from Kent Motorcycles 2 weeks ago. She took some finding, that’s for sure.
That’s the intention. Somehow I doubt we’ll see another V4. The costs of production count against it. The new NT1100 seems to be Honda’s thinking. Using an existing engine which is much cheaper to make. There’s been quite a rise in cheap to make parallel twins in recent years.
There was one rumoured a few years ago to replace the 800, it was due to grow to a 1000. But as you say, cost has probably skittled this idea now.
Sold mine a few years ago. Wondered if I could keep both that and the Blade but it was too much for the pocket at the time. Lovely ride though.
Nowhere. I fcuked up and sorn’d mine at the end of Sep. I could have easily gone on rides in Oct/Nov, today even 10c and dry. I will be taxing it for the full twelve months next year. Lesson learned
Hoping to get at least one more weekend of riding this year, so much so my new tyre is being fitted on Tuesday. Of course that means we are guaranteed rain/hail/snow every weekend until at least March 2022
Earlier in the week I saw the forecast for this weekend change to good and thought I’d gone too early for hibernation mode, but luckily, no. Had my booster jab on Thursday and wham I've felt dreadful since. I suspect a combination of that and me finally succumbing to the bug that’s been going round the family for a few weeks. Was supposed to be out round Lancaster last night and even had to cry off from that. So, no biking missed today, as I would have drowned in snot before I got 100 yards. You’ve got to look for the silver lining in such situations Doesn’t help my pillion though - she was well gutted when the weather was so good today and we wouldn’t be going out .
Nipped out to Glasson Dock this afternoon and came across a couple of newish Blade owners. Chatted for some time as you do and mentioned the forum , I think I talked them into becoming members They were happy for me to put some pictures on here .
First time out this year, just a gentle run alongside the Manchester ship canal, into Hollins Green near Warrington. Stopped off at The Black Swan for refreshments!
