Right folks what's your thoughts? Cool or tacky? I've been looking at them for a wee while as my swing arm has a few stone chips on it that are doing my head in so it's either remove it and get my mate to spray it or cover it up and get a carbon hugger and chain guard then maybe carbon frame covers, another thing that worries me is fitment issues and also you have to glue them on so if I don't like them I'm screwed because I'm a joiner and I know how hard some of these adhesives can be to remove. Give me your thoughts. Cheers Colin
Just a thought to help in your decision mate, search on here as there has been a few fitment posts. pretty sure you can use a sealant to fit? So easier to remove if you change your mind. Personally think it would look better if you did the frame at the same time.
I had the same dilemma, with my swing arm, having unsightly marks. I opted to remove the swing arm and , have it powder coated. It took awhile with the need to purchase specialist tools, confirming the correct torques, and changing the swing arm bearings. All looks good. But I would go with installing frame / swing arm covers.
I really don’t like the look of carbon covers. Always makes me wonder what damage they are covering up. But lots of people like them, so it’s just down to personal choice in the end.
Absolutely, it’s all about our, own stlying. You have mentioned covering up with a carbon hugger and chain guard, and then maybe frame covers, so that might be the option. To remove the swing arm, for a re spray can be quite time consuming.
