Hi Everyone, Ok so I went out to buy an R1 or zx10r maybe a k5 gsxr with a budget of about 4500 ish. Never saw myself as a honda guy but ended up buying a 2010 fireblade for 5800 (plus a tracker) and I pick her up today. No idea if this is a good year or model but she's black and white with 12000 on the clock. Never owned anything like this or a bike this new so nervous but super excited . My bike history: I'm 38 now and since I was 16 I have had a Peugeot Speedfight, then modified to 70cc (still have now). Used this for a few years then had a year on an fzr 250 which was so much fun until a garage broke it during a service. Then bought a 96 zx6r which scared me in the first year but found my feet and became amazing. Moved from this to a 2001 R6 that I have now and had for about 5 years but decided for another change. I've done track days at Bedford autodrome and donington which is a huge adrenaline rush lol. Anyways that's me and super excited
Hi welcome. Be careful that hasn't been raced, the front caliper is wire locked. Hopefully it's just an over exuberant previous owner.
Thank you all I waited all day for the call to pick her up after her post sale inspection and they rang me 20 mins after they closed . Now I have to try and arrange to get her on another day
No shortage of stories like that from that place, just be careful with them because with that many bikes they definitely have their share of lemons. Bloke at work ended up with a bike from them that wasn't right and he got nowhere with them trying to put things right.
Yep. They’ve got some of the cheapest bikes around. When I looked into them I heard a lot of stories of employees been forced to work long hours without breaks, effectively below minimum wages and being bullied.
I'm starting to get the impression if I have issues then it'll be a fight but should have about 1000 miles on her in the 30 days so hopefully any issues will show up. The staff seemed happy but who knows lol
Show us a side on pic. There will be more pipework on the right-hand side above the footrest hangar, solid pipes, not flexible, there will be a big square bulge in the under-tray that houses the ABS motors and electrics. Also, if you have original bodywork, it should say "Combined-ABS" or "C-ABS" somewhere, possibly on the front mudguard. Oh, there also might be an orange ABS light on the dash that comes on when you turn the key.
Looking at your photo of your blade, yours looks like a Non ABS Model as there is no ABS ring on your font brake disc.
Here’s no abs ring on the front wheel so unlikely to be an ABS version EDIT - As I see @Jay Floyd says above
