I thought i would mention a little issue with 2 of the lights i have bought off Ebay and the fault they devloped.First i would say they are a top idea and would consider the same now i know the problem. The main issue is that the small transistor curcuits rattle about until they part company with the mainboard and are then found within the rear lense and main body .These are the type of thing you see in radios miniture coloured bars soldered on .The fault is usually one side not blinking or say the brake light not working .I am lucky (for once ) to have a friend who has a small company making you guess what curcuit boards and he opened it up and could tell there was an element of poor workmanship and the solution is to spray or poor over some special curcuit board glue over all the board and off you go .Hope this helps ps these were not from china but from a company called Project R on ebay .I did write to explain the issue and the fix but the C**t could not be bothered to reply.

I got mine from M&P's before it burnt down for £80.00 and so far so good. If however i do get the same problem mine seems to be glued together, Was yours the same or did it have screws to open it up? Im a bit worried now as if the same fualt does arise then i wont be able to open it

Yes the one one the blade (Playboy rep ) is screwed which is good as i also had one for an R1 06 which was like yours and i had to wizz it .But no panic yet as the M+P one may be a different make and then its all good! Even the quality of mine was very good and fitted a treat it was just maybe the solder that may have been not up to much because my mate first soldered a transistor which had come adrift which stayed put when another dropped off once he glued over the lot it was sound.

I was actually going to ask about these lights

My mate has one on his 08 and think it's a Chinese ebay job. Looks really good though

Do which are a good make? Are the m&p ones still available?

Can't comment on the chinese ones as i have only purchased the one's from Project R Iin general it looks like they even may use the oe back light as it is i really good match inners have the printed curcuit board within giving both stop light and winkers so its well tidy .No fuss from cops as i have been pulled when my number plate fell off but of course the winkers where in the back light and as far as i am aware you don't have to have any anyway but if you do they must work(i think!). i have had three of these and i think after a period of time something goe's wrong manly what i discribed. I would still buy another but i would open it up and coat it with the glue .I am not sure which type but i will find out Sat and report back this will bind all small bits together and happy Daze.

Are these an easy fit, can anybody fit them?

I like the small r&g eliminator I've got but the indicators are like out riggers now :)

Yeah real easy to fit mate. the brake light just connects right up to the bikes loom but the inicators need to be sliced together with a resistor in the circuit to slow the blink speed . dont cut your bikes loom thou, cut the connectors of your indicators ( or buy a set of connectors of ebay ) and wire the intergrated units inidcators to them and connect to the bikes loom as normal. I taped the 2 resistors and all connections together to stop them moving around and coming loose .

If you do get 1 i will take a pic of the circuit

Is the m&p one you've linked to the same as what you have or do you think they've just bought cheaper ones instead?

    Do you get the resistors?

It looks the same but mine cost 80.00 so maybe its just reduced to clear stock ? It did come with resistors to wire in

My mate has bought a chinese 1 of Ebay that looks identical to mine and even had the same resisters which only cost £30.00. He has had it installed for 3000 miles now and no faults atall.

This is the make I'm looking at too. They sell their lights on eBay as well.

I have heard that some MOT stations can be funny about them as the indicators are meant to be a specific space apart (can't remember the measurement though).

There would be a lot of scooters failing if that were the case. Depends whether the tester got a shag the night before, or not. When I was a tester it wasn't an issue. But then I'd always be on duty shagged up... Now has anyone got this light?
