Thanks Benn. Jamie, I'm letting someone do just that, although I still think it's difficult to judge unless I try it myself. It's the 'head-shape' thing. Someone once said to me if a Shoei feels comfortable on you, it's unlikely an Arai will, and vice versa. Problem is I don't know any retailers who sell these lids here.

I have a shoei head and have always loved their lids, tried Arai but either to tight or to loose :( its a lot of money to take a punt on it being ok

I love my Kato memorial x-spirit and would buy another exactly the same if I could :)

These do look very nice, top quality but I would like to try before I buy, have you seen the £2095 carbon Arai......... http://formotorbikes.com/arai-rx7-rc.html

    Jesus

    £2095 and I don't really like it it's bland!

Is it HJC that make a carbon lid that's lovely!

Is it me or does the Arai Carbon look a bit '70's.

Anyway, so true about Arai heads and Shoei heads. Last September I worked my way down the entire length of one wall of Whites outlet warehouse and all the Arais felt incredibly light but 'not quite right' and all the Shoeis made that finger in the side of the mouth pop when I pulled them off. Shoei head I think.

That Nexx sure does look pretty though Johnny.

I have the Nexx carbon mate and......its excellent. Its soooo light its unbelievable. Vision is excellent, its as quiet as the arais, agv's and shoeis ive had in the past. Its incredibly comfortable too_Overall 5 stars from me.

No i dont work for nexx its just a bloody great lid :)

I got mine from thehelmetsuperstore.co.uk loads of different colours now too!

These lids look pretty cool. Hopefully someone will post up a nice review!
I get a bit pissed off with all the Sharp Testing if I'm honest. If the racers wear certain helmets that tells me something, and when the non sponsered ones buy Arai, Shoei's etc thats a good enough endorsement for me.
I had to laugh in a previous discussion on another site when some numpty argued with me that his 5 star rated 99 quid special lid was better than my Arai. I suppose it depends on how much you value your bonce!!
I wouldn't fancy mine ploughing the tarmac in a 99 quid lid even if it had 100 fewkin star rating!

totally agree with you mate as i'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, and 300 quid for a carbon lid seems either suspiciously low or arai are mugging everyone off with their 2k version!!

got to have some way of regulating and approving things, wouldn’t take sharp rating as gospel, but a better indicator of performance than nexx saying its great?? and it seems at least one way of finding out the quality if no racer / paid personality (ok mcn rate them, but how much were they paid to plug it) is using them.... which isnt always the best thing to trust....

like i say, love the look of these and they seem decent, but not sure i'd want to put my head into one of these without some confidence that it can stand up to the job.
