Hi, just picked up another cbr1000rr, which is fitted with a R&G Tail Tidy, what size of plate, I'm thinking 8 * 6, will accommodate legal letter / number's?

And where's best to source one from?

    TIA

7" x 5" is not legal but looks good, never been 'pulled up' for it.
Easily found on line and listed as show plates

9x7 is the legal plate size, and 8x6 is the smallest you can get away with a legal font size. I use 7x5 and it's very legible, I have no issues with it. But do have to swap it out at MOT time.

I use https://www.a1showplates.com/ for all my bikes and cars, they're very very good.

I'm just about to order one from them. Hardest part is thinking up a slogan for the bottom! :D

I think something along the lines of "You're just jealous" for a slogan :D

I've ordered one too, get rid of the barge board I have now.

I'm pretty certain the Law doesn't specify the physical size of a plate. It does specify font size, font spacing, details of maker etc.

I have a smaller plate that meets all the legal requirements, but I could do that as I have a private plate with on 5 characters.

7x5 for me always, anything bigger is like a wind break!! Usually pick one up on ebay and always request the all important black backing on the reverse of the plate. I always ask for a border all the way round too, just finishes things off nicely!

The border does look smart. Here is mine:

That sunset / sunrise is rather lovely, as is, of course, the bike :). Looks as flat there as my neck of the woods.

Thanks! It's Bedfordshire, just south of Toddington.

I love the Blade. Keep wanting to swap it for something more comfortable, but nothing else really gives that same feeling :)

I know the area, kids Godfather lives in Harlington.
Know what you mean about the comfort but I take a break every hour or so and it's fine. That "Fireblade feeling" isn't something I'm giving up easily either.

Yeah Harlington not far away. You had your bike on the bypass yet, from M1 Jct11a to Dunstable? Lots of bikes and cars hang out there.

Agreed, I stop for a break and then continue.

That was the plate on my bike when I bought it and he tried to tell me his pal who is a traffic cop said it was ok, I changed it for a 7x5 in the second photo and I still need to change it for my mot as it's too small Screenshot_20220906-165910.png Screenshot_20220906-165953.png
