My RR6 has developed an odd issue in the last few weeks. When using the left side indicator there’s a delay of a few seconds between hitting the switch and it coming on. The right side works fine. Anyone ever come across this issue, or got any suggestions on how to fix it? Been using my bike for commuting a fair bit recently so it’s very annoying, people think it’s a BMW if it doesn’t come on before the junction!
Possible the relay is faulty, or there's a bad connection between the bulb and the socket, or the earth from the socket needs a clean.
My rr5 indicator issues were down to the handlebar switch. Because I had fitted aftermarket indicators my first checks began with my wiring. Bit of a pain really due to requiring removing bits of fairing to access my connections. Nope…… back to the switch and a careful strip, which wasn’t pleasant, clean up and put back together resulted in everything working as it should. Best of luck mate
I had that before…used Halfords own brand electrical connector cleaner; spray it in and manoeuvre the ‘stalk’ to and fro, repeat half a dozen times…problem solved.
Thanks All. I decided to go with the option that was within my mechanical ability, (I thought relay was an event in the Olympics) and opted to wiggle the switch in situ and spray WD40 into it. I did that yesterday and rode to work this morning. Pleased to say it’s worked a treat. I can now exit a roundabout with my indicator doing its job, rather than coming on 200 yards after I’ve exited. Appreciate all the advice.
