Hi is anyone, riding the new 30th Anniversary fireblade on track, I have one but scared to make it into a track bike
I take it you are scared of crashing it?? I can see that, its alot of money should you throw it down the road!! Some measures you can take are crash protection, engine case covers and some spare bodywork! Other than that just take the number plate hanger and mirrors off and ride the thing on track!!
Hi yep your right do not want to see it sliding up the track, I ride ah 750 gsxr on track but would like ah little more on the straights as hard to stay with litre bikes on straights, that’s why I’m thinking about it, just haven’t seen to many other people doing it, if I had of bought the normal sp I wouldn’t think twice about it just when you look down and see the serial number looking up at you I get ah felling saying Stevie don’t do it ,
If that’s where you’ll get the most out of it mate? I’d say just do it, it’s made to be ridden hard. You can get track day insurance now so maybe worth a look just to ease the fear
Hi mate yes that would ease the pain ah bit definitely I’ll see what kind of insurance quote I get anybody no any good brokers
Compared with the cost of the bike, and the freedom it will give you to enjoy it properly mate I’d say not bad at all
I understand anyone’s reluctance to risk their machine. I had a minor spill earlier this year on the track, on my road bike, 18 plate sp. As big a kick in the nuts it was, it hasn’t put me off as the excitement out weighs the risk, for me anyway. You have to accept the fact that things can go wrong, and be willing to pay the price, if they do.
For track I swap to my Chinese fairing (cheap) and get track insurance too, I also have engine cover sliders and frame sliders, just in case
Now got an R1 2016, used to do track days on my fireblade RR5 also, use/used Chinese fairing for both, cost around £350, cheaper than damaging Original fairing
I got my WinWin from monster fairings, they have got a bit more expensive as of late, £550? You can order from China through Ali Express £350 and take your chance, all depends how good you want it to be really, I found the monster one was well made, but also the yam from Ali was also good, but you hear differing reports
I have ridden a few tracks on my 30th Anniversary Blade, great bike on track for speed and handling. Have done Anglesey Circuit, Oulton Park and Cadwell. Have crash bungs and engine covers on, also a spare set of wheels with some Michelin Power slick 2's on but have used the Cup 2's as you can ride on the road with them. Cadwell and Anglesey were done with James Whitham track day training, only 20 in each group so less chance of a want to be racer having you off. Picture for attention.
Hi Ritchie, fair play to yeA was going to replace all plastics with motox plastics and carbon slip inns for swingarm and frame, we’re do you get the engine coverings if you don’t mind me asking
Direct from GB Racing but if you look on Track Addicts on Facebook some is sell a full new set for 200 quid.
