My right hand goes seriously numb after about 15 minutes on the blade. Now i do realise the potential here, especially if nail varnish is introduced, but, would fitting some after market bar ends help or is it somethig else that anyone has experienced?
Yep I got it real bad on the MAG run last year. 12 miles up the M5 at 25 mph, in the same posture and constant speed and I couldn't feel it at all, bloody horrible feeling. Coming back on the old A38 with twisties and different throttle positions and the feeling came back within minutes. The bar end weights made no difference at all. It was only when I could relieve the pressure on whatever nerve was being pinched.
Just given it a moments thought.....maybe adjustable rearsets are the answer. ya know, trapped nerve cos of riding position....
Well I suffer from sciatica anyway so it must be posture driven, the riding position tripping it, but where to start. Rear sets, risers? Could get expensive finding out. Megawatt has experimented with fabricating bar risers. Try crossing his palm with silver.
Bar risers!!! eek!! Lol. I have sciatica too, have had for yonks but never suffered on a bike. The zxr and duke 'felt' more tipped forward and harder than the blade, maybe a bit more rear preload then? Though i might ride in circles if it turnred any quicker....
Yes you do get some vibration via the bars But having done touring, track days and road riding I found it was more of how I was holding the grips. To tight or maybe right at the end of the bars rather at the start of the grips closer to the middle of the bike. If that makes sense
Yea, makes sense to me. But i hold mine close in, i have to cos i got stubby asv levers. I dont hold tight neither, can always flap my arms like a chicken, if that makes sense?
Yea mate it does, then maybe a change of bar ends to start. best to try the cheapest thing first to try and get more comfy when grippinng the bars. Also DO you have standard grips?
With my Ducati I loosened of the clip ons until they were really slack whilst on the paddock stand, then got on and let the natural position that my hands wanted to be in pull them into the right position then tightened them up. It helped a bit but Italian ergonomics?........A contradiction in terms.
Just to throw it in....... I had a similar issue with an 08 R6 last year. I read that that if vibes are felt through the bars or footrests, you should check the throttle body sync. So I did, & they were well out; even on a low miles bike. It worked for me.
I have the same problem, its your right because you cant take it off or move it very well, I put a set of stomp pads on last year, they do help take the weight when you need too. I put heli bars on last year and took them off after a couple of days, some recommend them but to me they didn't feel right?
Silly question but I have heard that Stomp pads knacker the inside of your leathers...................is there any truth in it?
Yes, they do wear your leathers a bit; mine did anyway. I also think they look a bit like carpet runner....
