Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone knows what size silicon end caps you need to block the pair system . I know most get them plates but don't want to run risk of snapping bolts getting standard ones out and this seems easier way. Just can't find size and wondered if anyone knew what it was.
I managed to snap bolts twice on two cam covers! - really frustrating as all others came out no issue! They are lock tighted in so apparently heat helps (odd why others came out though!). Had to drill out and tap, that's when I fitted blanking plates. Sorry can't remember size of the silicon end caps, roughly size of little finger if memory serves me right.
This is exactly why I was just going to bung them as I know my luck. My mate got them all out no problem but I know llyhey will snap on me lol
Yea mate , I was just going to get 3 14mm silicon caps and use original clips things to hold them in place . Cheers for size
I hope they don't blow a hole in them as they are automotive ones rated upto 380c , think my crank would give in before them possibly hahahaha

There are no gains. But you need the system blocking before you go on the dyno because it will skew the readings on the probe in the exhaust. I ditched the whole system before going on the dyno to save the tuner the bother of having to pinch it off somewhere, it also reduced the clutter under the airbox for when it's time for valve clearances.
One of mates said it recirculated dirty air back into airbox but I think he may have got confused with fresh air back into air box
No, it only takes clean air from the airbox, down to a valve and then from there onto the exhaust ports.
Ah right so ibwas doing it so didn't get shitty air in but if its clean air mY not bother even if I get bike mapped lol
There are one-way valves under the pair covers which prevent burnt gasses getting back into the airbox, not that it would matter that much. The reason I deleted PAIR is cos a) I want less bullshit on my bike and b) saved about 350g weight If I ever take it to a dyno it will be a bonus.
As I understand it, the PAIR system is designed to inject more air/oxygen into the exhaust to help burn off unspent fuel in the exhaust gases. That's a good thing if your exhaust still has a catalytic converter as it helps prevent the cat getting clogged with fuel and having an even bigger effect on performance than it does already.
