It’s even worse than that. A588 average speed cameras will go all the way from Lancaster to Shard Bridge. This week they are installing 3 between Hambleton petrol station and Shard Bridge. Next step likely to be lowered speed limits too. The section from Preesall Park to Stalmine just got dropped from 60 to 40 last month…

Just after the Pilling straight now 50mph to Cockerham the cottages on the left has a yellow two way camera on the garden wall 4ft up. Very hard to see till you get right up to it.:eek:
    Sneaky twats

I’ve seen that too! Can’t work out whether it’s a fake or not. They don’t normally get mounted on garden walls.

Why aren’t you lot going out in the middle of the night with angle grinders? o_O

The amount of surveillance and control in this country is oppressive, and it’s just going to get worse unless we do something.

You need to plan stopping areas between cameras

I'm a long time user of apps that warn me about scamera locations.

Just make sure you use one that has a decent database with regular updates. I use Pocket GPS World, it costs money but it's worth it. Well it costs unless like me you are a user who reported a new camera when they gave you free updates for life rather than the 12 months they give now.

On Android check out SpeedTrap Alert, costs a couple of quid but they have a free trial period.

Apple users can use CamerAlert. It's an old app that hasn't been updated in years, but they are looking for someone to take it on. There is also an Android version but that stopped working after about Android 10.

This is all just personal recommendation, no connection to any of the bits mentioned beyond being a user of them.

It doesn't sound to be high enough for av speed cameras....theyre usually on long poles or gantries and I wouldn't have thought you could mount it on a private wall...what if the home owner wants to knock it down etc

Was out on my newly acquired Hornet and went past there both Saturday and Sunday just gone. Never spotted it.

Anyone know what prison food is like these days?

Just stick to B roads then, they are the most fun, less cars and more bends :D and no average speed cameras, well none round here anyway :D
