Panigale V2 vs Fireblade

    Hi guys,
    After 3 years with my blade black and white I think is time to have fresh air with another models and newers ones, I am aiming a brand new V2 or fireblade, but I am more tend to go for a new Duca V2, what guys do you think about, will be a good move or should I stay with Honda on a new fireblade?

    Completely different bikes. I test rode one last year cos I was thinking the same as you. Delivers power in a totally different way, and gets very hot under the seat.
    The only way to know for sure is test ride one. For me it was a no.

    Good to know, I heard it is very hot under the seat, but yes definitely they are completely different bikes, what you POV about delivering power?
    I am more willing for a ducati because I think prettier than the fireblade

    Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so if it floats your boat then fair enough. Personally I don’t think the panigales look that nice, the design is way too busy for my tastes and the exhaust showing through the side fairings reminds me of an animal showing a rib after a botched lion attack. I’m more a fan of the 748/916 bikes, IMO they’ve got a more elegant design.

    If you have a local dealer, I recommend booking a test ride. You got nothing to lose except maybe a 5 year commitment to bread and water :D

    That’s why I hesitate to book a ride on a V4s. I know I’ll have to get the credit card out and say good bye to my blade as a deposit. :oops:

    I see, so would you like to go for a V4S? I don't have that money yet, maybe after the V2 or Fireblade?

    I hope so, so in any case I will do thr test drive with the V2

    I've owned a Ducati 1199 for 10 years now, it's an animal compared to the 2015 Fireblade I use on track. The 1199 sounds better, looks better and always makes me smile even though it is uncomfortable to ride, the Fireblade on the other hand is just a good tool, boring to ride on the road but yet does the job.

    Good to know mate, I know the V2 and slightly different from V4 or 1199 but I think is a good comparison and I am think the Ducati is winning this battle for my side

    This fully loaded Troy Baylis edition arrived at a mates recently after being dropped shortly after being ridden from the dealers. Now it's going straight on track as a road legal track bike.

    Paulo is the Panigale expert having jumped ship from a Blade, I've been wanting a Panigale for the last 6/7 years but finances have hindered me and I still really like my Repsol, reliability and running/service costs of the Panigale certainly have to be taken into account when considering a change. According to most reports the V2 is more user friendly than the V4 but the V4 has to be the ultimate if you can afford it .

    Agree Ducati is my dream at the moment, and I will get the V2 exactly because is more user friendly and to start in the ducati's world, maybe after V2 I will jump on a V4

    As said before, two very different bikes, but if you like V Twins (which I do and I've had to of them) then go for the V2. Its a beautiful bike and the reviews on them are very good, more road and user friendly an all that.

    I looked at one and was considering it over my fireblade, I love the look of all Panigale's and I'm not going to lie, I liked the V2 because it looked like the V4 and for me that's what made me pull the plug on it.

    Don't get me wrong, the V2 is an amazing bike and more than enough power the average rider ike me would ever need. But after 6 months would you be saying to yourself....."I wish I'd have bought a V4" ??o_O

    If I was going to buy a V Twin it would be the 1199 or 1299s Panigale, possibly even an 848 evo or 1098. Then still probably go for a 999, 749, 996 or 748, they are the most beautiful V Twins the world has ever seen.....That would cure my V Twin craving!

    So you have to ask yourself now, do you want a V2, because you want that V Twin feel and you love V twins..... Or because it looks like a V4??

    Its a dilemma alright......and one that got the better of me :rolleyes:

    But im so glad it did ;)

    Yeah it gets hot under the seat but who cares!!:D

    I’m seriously considering adding an 848 evo corse to the stable. Followed by a Tuono or RSV4, and a new ZX4RR just for kicks :D

    I have been looking at 848 evo's for a while, there's always a few in my ebay watch list. Along with RSV4 and the odd Tuno V4. It would seem we have similar taste in bikes @Coda !!:D:D

    Wait till you see my most recent acquisition.....
    .....you might be surprised!!;)

    Very well explained mate, I really appreciate it, what is the mainly difference between a V engine and L?
    But indeed the get hot under the seat but as we are in the uk is always good to have a little of heat hahaha

    The 848 is the only bike there that is “old”. The ZX4R isn’t out yet.
    And be careful what you’re calling “old” :D

    Sound and power delivery. I don’t know how the Pani V4 engine is, but traditionally, V engines (especially twins) develop more of their torque lower in the rev range and with a less pronounced “power band”, but they don’t tend to rev as high, which means less BHP (horsepower is a factor of torque and RPM). The advantage is often quoted as “drive out of the corners” which if you’ve spent any time racing or listening to racers, you’ll know this is key to quick laps. The complete opposite are two strokes, where they are gutless until you hit ~7000 rpm and they then rip your arms off (well figuratively speaking :D). This made them difficult to ride fast on track, lots of skill required. 4 strokes inline engines are similar in power delivery but to a much lesser degree.
    My test ride was in the autumn last year, it was only about 20c ambient, and it was uncomfortable. Nice bike though - but if I ever buy one I’ll be removing the exhaust and replacing it with something else. I understand it’s the exhaust routing that causes the heat issue.

    The 848 was the weirdest bike I have rode.
    At 95ish it felt like it was floating:eek:
    Other than that I loved it, but compared to the blade not as quick
    My boy has told me to buy a Ducati so if anything happens to me again he can have it 1 because he already has a fireblade
    2 he doesn’t like my blade:eek:
