Well I was warned lol....abs light flashing mid ride..I stopped at lights, ignition off and back on then had a nothing brake pull then nearly over the bars with the second grab...didn't enjoy the rest of the ride as I no longer trusted it...I did say if it happens it will have to go...
I washed it the day before and managed to flatten the battery.im hoping one of those contributed to this.as I sit typing this I'm very tempted to px and get something newer

Unlikely It was washing it or the battery going flat. If you want to keep it and trust the brakes then remove the ABS, there's a thread on here about how to do it.

Honda should have been hauled over the coals for this but money talks and Honda have a lot of it.

I couldn't ride a bike after that, you have to have 100% faith in a bike, px it back to a Honda main stealer then your conscience is clear

I would certainly stick with the Fireblade over the BM but non ABS, just can't understand why DOT have not ordered Honda to do a safety recall.

I've no doubt that lots will never have this happen, but how many have to before honda accept its very dangerous..the bikes over 10 years old now...it was really to scratch the 1000cc itch..I have noticed the brake collapsing on first pull before but I'd not set off,I always give it a few tugs since day one after reading things on here...got my head on the bmw now,so I'll be keeping my eye out for a nearly.new one with 2 years warranty..

Pretty much bought an s1000rr,just haggling on my px price..I was 100% honest with the reason I'm getting rid of it,the bike will be going to honda dealership to be sorted an re sold..
Offering me 4k which is piss poor considering it was up for 6700 last December.
Going for a 2020 with run in miles on it its the sport in red...

Well.ive done it,I've bought a 2020 s1000rr with 400miles from bmw up in the North east.ive enjoyed my very short 14 or so months with the cbr1000rr but it's seriously flawed, and I will not risk the obvious dangers that honda refuse to even recognise..thus forum has been a pleasure, many thanks floating me....
