:( Average speed cameras now in operation along the complete length of the A581. That being Dawber’s Lane that becomes Southport Road, then Highfield Road (where it meets B5249 Moor Road - don’t know if they continue down there as well), through Croston village and out the other side on Meadow Lane and lastly Croston Road.

Speed limit has changed in a few places too - goes from 40 to 30 to 40 to 30 to 20 to 30 to 50.

So all the way from the roundabout in Euxton/Pincock where it meets the A49 Wigan Road at Euxton Mills pub, through Croston Village out the other side and all the way until it meets the A59 Liverpool Road just north of Rufford.

Used to be a cracking road :(

Can be again if you get a portable angle grinder.

Is it still 14 days to receive notice of prosecution if caught by mobile camera van?

By and large, yes it is. The rules apply to any prosecution where a written NiP is required, not just speed cameras or speed vans.

The NiP must be sent out in sufficient time that it has a reasonable chance of arriving within 14 days, but once posted it is deemed as served even though the Post Office may not deliver for several weeks (as appears to be happening in some areas)

So if one arrives, check the date on the document and also check the date on the envelope. 1 day after the 14 and everything gets cancelled.

The rules are slightly different if you are in a company owned vehicle as you may not receive the NiP but the owners of the vehicle/Registered keeper should still receive one along with a requirement to notify details of the driver.

So if 'snapped' on a Saturday in my case on Saturday 3rd June would 14 days run from then or the next working day being the Monday 5th June ?
I was in North Yorkshire they certainly seem to like mobile camera vans up there :(

The clock starts ticking from midnight (or 00.01am to be precise) of the Saturday evening/Sunday morning so in effect it is 14 clear days
