I've recently been looking to get myself another blade and was mainly looking for an RR6 or RR7 but have been unable to find anything that ticks all the boxes! There's always something wrong like......little or no service history, only 1 key, stupid exhaust, crappy micro indicators with butchered wiring, non original fairings or evidence of paint, shit ton of owners, high mileage and just generally poorly maintained bikes!! I even went on a recent road trip to County Durham with my old mucka @Selmer50mark to collect an rr7 HRC, described as a 'stunning example of Hondas legendary fireblade' same model as his actually, anyway it all looked good in the pictures an seller even sent me some more detailed pictures and it all looked good. When we got there the bike was on the drive and I kind of knew within a couple of minutes it was a lemon! Painted fairings, he'd filled the fairing indicator holes and painted over, drilled new holes to accommodate micro indicators, throttle stuck open, paint on nose cone, full yoshi system and headers were touching fairings, wheels scratched up, the list goes on and just too much wrong for me!! Why can't people just leave these beautiful bikes alone and not completely ruin them with tatt At least keep all the original parts so it can be put back to normal and just generally look after the fuckin thing!! Well apparently some people can, after not managing to find a suitable blade, I turned my attention to Yamahas R1, initially 2008 model.........then I came across this(not in that way but very nearly) Its a 2009, FSH, 9k miles, 3 owner, Yamaha service/owners books in the pack with 3 keys in immaculate, original and stunning condition. Owner had for the last 9 years! Completely standard apart from those beautiful Akrapovic silencers with baffles! (They'll be coming out) Oh and he's kept the original exhausts wrapped in bubble wrap and lovingly boxed in the Akra box!! cannot wait to pick it up, my faith is restored that there are people out there who know how to look after things
Lovely bike. This is the limited edition SP model right? These were very sought after back in the day.
Thanks, @Selmer50mark said the same thing, but to my knowledge there was an SP version but that was on the previous 2008 model? I could be wrong though......bonus if it is!
Lovely that mate. What's the plan with this one? Is it to save the Panigale for "best"? Be great for the track days.
You'll be surprised to hear that this will be my main bike! Panigale is going unfortunately but I have had it 2.5 years which is 6 months longer than I normally get itchy feet I still love it and its a dream bike but right now I'm in a position to sell it for slightly more than I paid for it. If not a guy has offered me what I actually paid for it and he's looking to come up from Dorset tomorrow so it may be gone sooner than I thought! I'm mean where do you go from a Panigale V4?? I'm certainly not upgrading as its just to much money!! I can pay for the R1 outright and maybe not be as precious about it and get on and just ride the thing! Saying that.....its so MINT I'll probably be just as precious So if anyones interested in a V4 pm me! Tis the cheapest 2020 standard V4 in the UK from what I can see
I'm going to do my very best to keep this indefinitely.........just got to a stage where I really don't need the latest and greatest!
Looks lovely Paul reckon you are going to be pleased with that. How can a 14 year old bike only cover 9k miles makes you wonder why some people have bikes Hope the Pani goes tomorrow the guy has to be pretty serious if he's coming up from Dorset, many on here will be sad to see it go but looking forward to hearing about your new adventures on the R1.
Well she's gone.......I felt sad for a moment but then it dawned on me, I got £5 more than I paid for it 2.5 years ago and after I've paid for the R1 tomorrow I'll still have 10k left over to stash in the bank!!! That's not a bad results as things go is it
R1 lights look so ugly I want a bmw for the sound but hate the lights and haven’t got the money for a new one
Bobbers going as well, so there's another 4.5k in the bank.........you want a loan to pay for your BMW??
Interestingly enough, seeing as you brought the Bobber up........I've had both bikes for sale side by side on ebay. As you can see the bobber has had over twice as many views and three times more watchers than the Panigale had!! Over 3000 views and over 100 watchers is unprecedented as far as my selling of items on ebay!! Looks like there is more wannabe hipsters out there than we thought Screenshot was taken yesterday BTW, since gone up to the figures stated!
Being a base model you haven’t had the latest and greatest yet fella, get the r and you’ll be on the way
A lot of people have got £4500 and not £18000 My boy had the same something like 150 views and 4 watchers on his husqvarna But 370 views and 180 watchers on his blade
