MCE are the lowest of the low. Went bust took the money and then started up again thinking all would be forgiven https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/mce-t-cs-change.41286/
I am with BeMoto. Titanium cover. £246 for the year on my Tuono V4 Factory. This is amazing value for money and has helmet and leather cover, legal cover, personal accident cover and breakdown cover all inclusive.
Been with BeMoto for a few years now and all has been good, but this years renewal is up by £121-08 an increase of 45%. A similar quote from Bennetts is less than 90% of last years price. I've only just had the details through so I'll have to see what BeMoto can offer.
Have also been with BeMoto for a few years now had renewal through a few weeks ago there was a slight increase in annual premium but as I won't be doing any Euro trip this year I dropped down from the Titanium policy to the standard it saved me just over £42 the other extras included in the Titanium I have within other policies
@bradt I could swallow a slight increase but £121 plus is taking the piss. A standard policy with Bennetts is virtually £200 cheaper.
I just use compare the market and then compare the lowest quotes I never stick with the same guys unless they can beat that quote which sometimes they do...
I do the same as @SimonRR every year but do mcn compare. Been with BeMoto for the last 4 years as they've always been competitive. Just changed bikes from my Ducati to my R1. Not only did they not refuse to change, they didn't charge me to change, they even gave me a £20.rebate ....not much but In comparison to what you have experienced its different level! ONE CALL ISURANCE ARE SHITE!! there i said it!!
I was with Bemoto last year, they just weren't competitive this year. Can't remember the difference but I'm fairly sure it was nearly double what I'm paying now.
Finally went through MCN Compare to Bennetts got basic fully comp. with protected n.c.b. for £183-41, saving well over 50% and with the same company BeMoto blamed for the big increase.
The odd thing for me with BeMoto was I said to them I don't need Titanium cover if that helps. Pause for 2 mins and then, ok I've cancelled your renewal. Hmm, ok, goodbye. I'll try them again next year. They were good for mid policy changes.
Just done the self same thing with BeMoto and cancelled the titanium cover at renewal stuck with them as premium came out about £170 couldn't be asked to shop around to save another 20 quid.
Had a multi bike policy with bennetts for years (triumph tiger and fireblade)when I got the new blade last year it went up from £252 to £680 this year they want over £1100
Wow that’s a kick in the nuts. Hope you can shop round for something more realistic. Not looking forward to my renewal in a month
All the comparison sites are a similar price I've Got it with Mackenzie Hodgson for £750, everyone is saying its because of the value of the 30th anniversary fireblade
BeMoto sent their renewal quote through this evening and it’s gone up nearly 50% from £211.18 last year to £307.57 . Phoned them up and got told it’s not us, its AXA, they’ve put their rates up, but are still the cheapest blah blah. “Sorry, but there’s nothing we can do sir”. Got them to check and confirm that this policy will not auto renew. Which it was set to, but that has now been changed. Straight on Compare the Market and Bennetts are looking a decent equivalent. Long story short - For the same cover as I had (BeMoto Titanium) and coincidentally with that same terrible AXA lot has cost me £167.17 . The only difference I see is the compulsory excess is now £50 more expensive. I’m calling that a result EDIT - So on checking the fine print I spotted that my 9 years NC wasn’t protected for some reason - it was initially, but I must have accidentally unticked a box when going through the quote on the Bennetts site. Also, the RAC only included roadside assistance and recovery of 10 miles or nearest garage. Spoke to them and they were very helpful all be it they advised I would have to cancel yesterdays policy as it couldn’t be amended (the online quotes are cheaper than the over the phone ones apparently), but they processed a full refund. Adding the NC Protection was easy enough, but you have to take the RAC Euro+ out to get full recovery in the UK, but you also get home start and everything else. Not now the bargain it had been, but at £211.93 its within pence of what I paid last year so I’m not complaining still a result in my glass half full world
