Radiator guard fitted today, cost me all of 3 quid for the rubber edge trim as I had the mesh left over from one I did for the Panigale!! Slotted straight in with it being a perfect rectangular shape and the curve helps hold it in under tension.
Was supposed to be going up the Horse Shoe pass today but weather forced us to postpone the run, although its turned out OK Anyway decided to do a job I've been putting off since @bradt suggested it due to it being a bit of a bastard job! Removing the rear foot pegs......or for the Yanks out there....Passenger delete Its bad enough having to remove the battery but this meant the battery tray had to come out as well so its a big effort but worth it I think!
So as you can see i decided to go to my preferred colour of wheel which is BLACK! Thought I'd have a go myself although I've only ever painted small items and nothing that requires a perfect finish. Its turned out pretty good and the finish is lovely and smooth and very shiny. I got a bit over excited and probably put a bit too much on at the end which caused a couple of runs at the bottom of the wheel after I left it to settle. Can't stop gravity I suppose. I tried to keep turning the wheel regularly but I couldn't sit there rotating it all night! Anyway, easy fix... after its gone off properly I will rub down the runs and repaint. If anything I've learnt something and will be a bit more careful when I do the back wheel which needs to be perfect as there's alot more of it on show! Overall happy with the results. I used Simoniz Tough Paint gloss black!!
