Anyone looking to sell theirs or know one that's not being advertised in the usual online places (checking Autotrader, Ebay, Facebook, MCN everyday) ? Doesn't have to be mint but in good condition for the age. Being in very good mechanical condition is more important to me.
Probably teaching my granny to suck egg's, but have you considered the 04/05 bikes? https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...r1000rr-fireblade-2004-review-used-price-spec
Only reason I didn't include 04/05 is the only colour scheme I've seen that I liked was the Repsol but most of them won't be genuine ones.
Thanks. Already had that one earmarked for a look I'm actually in London this weekend so was going to contact them tomorrow to check they still had it for a view on Sunday.
Just noticed that was a new one. He's had it advertised for the last week and been dropping the price but took down the old advert
Correct me if I'm wrong but that bike is missing all the normal decals so it's very likely not the original fairing ?
Yep you're spot on there mate, it's got mixed plastics that one. Looks like a Chinese tank cover and tail cowl (wrong colour). Decals missing off RH fairing, decals missing from lower fairings and nose cowl. Priced accordingly you could probably argue though. Whats your budget? I think you'll be looking at £5500+ for a low mileage minter. Have you seen MB superbikes in Chesham? He has a few 07's? He's had them for sale for a while though so not sure what they're like.
I went to see both the HRC bikes they had last weekend. They were both in really good condition I thought. Definitely still on my radar but I need to arrange a test ride and knock the price down if I want one of them.
One is almost completely standard and the other has quite a few trick bits on it. Was undecided which one I preferred
The 2 HRCs you're talking about have definitely been for sale since early November because I saw the adverts when I was looking. Hopefully that means there's room for a bit of haggling.
Could possibly be tempted to sell on my 2007 HRC - almost finished project, pretty much restored from ground up, just a little minor fairing cosmetic to go (just not got round to finishing that, probably as not stopped me riding it!). Has 49k miles but you'd never know and mechanically very sound. PM me if interested
No worries, would have really struggled to let it go as find the blade such a good bike (particularly the 07 but I am biased there having owned two for total of 14 years). I would say in my experience mileage is not an issue on bikes if they are properly maintained and looked after - my one was a private buy and came with receipts as long as your arm for routine maintenance (previous owner literally spent £1000's doing everything, do wonder if garages were taking advantage!) and although tatty round the edges as used in all weathers, with some TLC and lots of bolt by bolt cleaning and replacement, it now hardly looks like it's been out in the rain. MOT guy couldn't believe mileage - he joked people usually clock down not up! I used to have salesman tell me if more than 10k miles on a bike it was high - but that's crap (unless it's a 2-stroke or old lump!). When you find the right one, you'll know - just keep your eyes on the maintenance and how it's been treated.
