Pinking

Morning Team.
I Have 2019 CBR 1000 rr which I love to bits but at certain revs it pinks. Using best fuel,Honda Main dealer say nothing re this issue.
Surely Im not the only owner of a pinking CBR 1000rr ?
Any thoughts.

Try another brand/grade of fuel (from empty as possible tank). My old sierra was fine on any fuel other than from esso - would pink like hell, but not on fuel from anywhere else! Never tried my bikes there

 

Always use Esso 99 stuff on my '19. Never any problem.

 

Try some injection cleaner.

 

Could it have been mapped.
After a new fuel experiment, worth checking the knock sensor

Fuel pressure regulator or pump might be worth a look if it's not the knock sensor. Maybe worth taking to a rolling road.

 

If it is linking at low revs, they all do that. Change down and run a lower gear

 

TPS also worth a look

 

2019 has no knock sensor. The ignition is highly advanced to sneak it through emissions regs. Either change down as previously suggested, or get the ECU reflashed and timing set properly. I eventually went with the reflash and it improved everything.

Well after doing lots of chemicals down the tank its still pinking. After a New cam Chain tensioner you've guessed it still pinking.
Next is getting it flashed,naughty Honda not doing a recall ! losing faith in Honda (shame).
