I like woodturning. Today I made a new shaving brush and bowl, a couple of pens for a work mate who's getting married in a few months and a few Super Sic pens The shaving brush handle is made from Kingwood, the brush is just over 3 inches at the widest point, a real soap muncher. The bowl is made from Zebrano wood. Hope you like them
Cheers Matt The pens take about an hour to make, the brush handle about 30 mins and the bowl an hour or so. The bowl fell out the cole jaws, chuck and hit me in the nose, luckily it was turning slowly Here's the youtube video of me making the Super Sic pens, I made some for another forum i'm in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cjEgSthXpc
I was expecting you say about 5 hours for the pens, I remember when I was an apprentice using a lathe and a lump of ,steal flying out and nearly hitting me
Wow! I'm impressed mate! The extent of my non riding hobby when the weather is pants is reading about riding lol
Sweet. I'll bet that brush feels lush lathering up. I've yet to get around to a professional cut throat shave and I'll bet the lather stage is just tactile as the shave. Nice one Dave.
That's really ace Dave, just watched the vid with my 6 year old she loved it. Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
It's a must ken! Me and my dad go quite often on a weekend if we go and have breakfast... Got to try it.
Dude, You have just found the perfect present for some friends wedding. How much would you charge me to make a his and hers set? One off custom pen's. Think that would be a nice gift.
Andrew the pens I made today are made from Acrylic, I make most of my pens out of wood, feels much better IMO. Here some I made a while ago, the bullet one is a real 7.62 round, and the top is red deer antler. Thanks for the kind words guy's
