Just been looking at a picture of the latest BMW M1000RR and the wing on the front . Personally I'm not a fan of these big wings, I think they spoil the looks of sports bikes. What's your opinions?
Agree. I was looking at the new red and black Aprilia Tuono on MCN and thought it looked like someone hadn't pulled the delivery tape off.
Not a fan - of no use to the majority of riders just more overly expensive frail protrusions to break off
In general they're growing on me very slowly....that new M1000RR is way over the top though, they look daft.
You get wonderful groundforce at silly speeds to do corners no mortal man can attempt.. ... but just let the front wheel come off the ground even a few inches and the few degrees of up angle becomes down angle and suddenly that's upforce. I'm not brave enough and I raced 250s which says nothing good about my instincts for self preservation.
I don't mind a bit of Wingage but the new m1000rr has taken it too far, its massive!!!! I do like the aero at the bottom of the front wheel though
Actually looks way better, but its not really about looks is it.......they've all had to do it to play catch up and now we're at a point where it just looks silly, especially the dinosaur spikes on the seat unit
I can remember watching Eurosport with Toby Moody and Julian Ryder when the1st wings appeared, they were asking peoples opinions on them and folk were sending in photo's of their bikes with cornflake packets taped to the fairing..... talk about a glimpse into the future
