Has anyone found a source of genuine seals and pistons other than Honda for the front calipers? Honda want something like £100 per side for seals and £140 per piston. It’d be cheaper to just buy new M40 calipers…. Edit to add, calipers have unusual 32 & 30 mm pistons, so if I had to change Caliper I’d probably have to do master cylinder too
To update this thread, you cannot get seals to for the Honda Brembo caliper other than from Honda themselves. The dust seal is a Honda thickness used nowhere else. Main seals you can buy from HPS. Pistons, HPS supply stainless castellated replacements for £400 which is cheaper than £150 each from Honda.
There are aftermarket suppliers that produce caliper seal kits and pistons that are compatible with Honda M40 calipers. While these may not be OEM parts, many high-quality aftermarket kits come from reputable brands and can be significantly cheaper. Check brands like All Balls Racing, EBC Brakes, or Vesrah, which often provide quality kits at a lower price than OEM.
Trust me, I’ve looked high and low. No-one stocks the right part for the ‘17-19 bike. Of course, if you can find some and confirm they are correct, that would be great. There’s a few places that advertise, such as Wemoto, but supply the wrong part.
This might help those looking to buy from other than Honda. But then it might not…. The parts are repackaged Brembo parts and I suspect these are the Brembo part numbers . Whether you can buy them or not remains to be seen. But if it does work, then you owe me beer. £150 worth of seals for each caliper ….
