As for the full power bit ive owned a 07 and a 011 and the new one is miles better without a doubt power handling and as a package fooking love it
That's fine i'll just have to keep it... that works for me lol, I certainly wouldn't let it go for 4k i'd sooner keep it and just buy another one and have 2 bikes, in fact i could turn it into an ornament. I could put it in my bedroom! now thats an idea............
Remember mate you only loose money on them if you sell.... Bats all the time I own an 07 I can not say the 8's better.....lol even though it may well be... mines a little better than stock....
I agree, i have seen RR9's on Ebay and Pistonheads go for under 6k, with low miles and mint cond, the RR6/7 is a nice bike, but it's now 6 years old.... does seem a bit high. I have seen a number of Blades, Gixxers and R1's etc on the interweb sell very quickly... but they are priced right, the ones where the owners love them too much simply do not sell because their emotions take over from what the market is really like, best not to even put it on the board, it would be heart renching if all you got were really low offers, best to keep it i think. There are bikes i have been looking at (i am one of those potential buyers) being offered for sale by private individuals who are asking more than a very very similar bike in a dealers !!! Utter madness, but the owners appear not to to look at the other ad's in and around the ad they just placed for a price comparison.... confused !
I could have brought a much later model but decided to spend the extra money on the goodies. By the time I have finished I will probably have spent as much as a new blade. But I will have a bike with the bits on I like and it will probably be as fast if not faster than a standard new model and handle as well or better than a new one. It all depends on what floats your boat.
Same as mate, my 07 puts down 176bhp, has OZ Racing wheels, WSB spec Ohlins forks, Stobart TTX36 rear, Brembo HPK front and rear with Brembo HPK T Drive discs, Full Ti Akra and much much more it pays to upgrade rather than trade imo and unless you are going to chase your tail with new models all the time with out a bottom less pit of money these things take time and effort...
By the way Arthur, the suspension changes have improved my bike so much it is unrecognisable in terms of handling. Biggest change on a bike I have ever had. So glad I took this route, spent years chasing newer, faster models and spent a fortune and often ended up with a bike that was not as good to ride as the sold modded one. Lesson learned for me and it is so nice customising with the things you want and getting it to perform how you want it to. I also prefer the underseat exhaust set up, must be the Ducati influence
I'll be keeping both mine and modding them and then adding to my collection but after spending a fortune on my K8 then selling it I have regretted it ever since not because it was any better than the new bike but because it was mine in more than just my name I put my heart into it and still miss it now!
I know what you mean Benn, I really miss my Brutale and Ducati's. The Blade is a better bike in many ways but the others mean't a lot to me and I miss riding them and looking at them !
Lets face it guys, the performance of any big sportsbike of the last 20yrs exceeds 90+% of joe publics abilities... All a bit academic. Down to colour & badge on the tank really.

Those bikes characteristics inherently encouraged tank slappers (and they had no steering damper fitted as standard to mask it). So, whilst these 90s (or earlier) sports bikes were generally better than my riding abilities, I could still exceed the bike's abilities in some respects. A "modern" bike has different geometry, longer swingarm, different weight distribution, damper, etc, which make it more difficult for me to exceed it's abilities. In summary, newer bikes are indeed generally better than older bikes.
