Hello Guys and Gals! Just a Quick servey, 1/ how do you communicate whilst on your bike To other riders? to answer your phone? your pillion? 2/ would you like to be able to communicate with up to 4 other riders or a pillion? Regards Stu.
Hiya Stu I generally ride alone so only communicate with other road users: If they move over and/or are considerate = full hand wave If the don’t move over or do something stupid to endanger me = single finger wave Both seem to be understandable lol
I have a starcom digital on my bike. to be honest im thinking of removeing it and selling it. I never use it.
Used to have a wired Autocom system but changed to the Bluetooth Interphone F4, and so glad I did. Amazing improvement. Can call other people at 70mph and they don't even know you're on a bike. Also the wire-free usage is so much more convenient. Would never go back to a wired system now.
Don't think I'd like that - giving someone the wrong warning and something happening to them? Or my pal chatting away or telling me when I should go for overtakes etc... Firm believer in everybody rides for themselves... And take the consequences. Part of the appeal of the bike for me is having my own space? Perhaps I'm weird.... Only time I think it'd be great is when I'm out with Lisa again and we get split up etc
We use hand signals, flippin 'eck if we had intercoms I'm sure Dave would crash If he could hear some of the things that come out of my mouth when I'm riding, sometimes they're not very ladylike lol Xx
Yeah, I know where you coming from, ithought that too jimbo, but it's ace. A guy once let us know he had problems on his bike, t was worth it for that, otherwise we would have kept on going. Very handy for an important call too, and sat Nav instructions etc.. Or even being alerted that there are bibs up the road.
Yeah, the police warning and helping a pal in need is good, but you'd soon realise he wasn't behind and quick call or u-turn sorts that. Calls, and sat nav though, nah... Not for me. Although dave v bluetooths his I pod through it, I'm digging that...
I want something that can hook up to a walky talky that we used when touring Europe and le mans trips
I may remove my starcom digital if i get a good enough offer..... You will need to purchase new headsets and a ptt switch plus the required cables to plug into a radio. TheRange Just the unit on its own costs £230 new. I have the cable for a garmin zumo 660 plus the cable to plug into an ipod or mp3 player. I also have the coiled headset extention cable. Just no headsets. Mine are stuck in my old helmets and are long gone. Kind of forgot to take them out.....
Dude, I thought I'd be exactly the same- But the G4's awesome, music, and it's paired to Jo's which she's like's Couldn't be without it now.
I ride with my phone headphones in most of the time, for music and calls but have walkies for out with the lads. Bought them for our Wales trip but dont use then often for a few reasons. Poor sound quality Push to talk is a pain but open Mic drains bats Rubbish range. When in a big group 4+ front can't hear back Uncomfortable as hell. Earpiece embeds itself into my head after a couple hrs Would love a system that could overcome these issues though
Try the G4, it's voice activated for communicating between headsets. It's no Bose system, but sound quality is ok
Agree, bike time is my time. My lovely wife Gail isn't interested in bikes so I get some quality bloke time with my other lady.
