I have a 7x5 on mine. Got pulled last year, £60 fine. A few mths before on the trumpet, small plate (6x4) loud can, excessive speed, got a warning for speed, no mention of the can or the plate etc... Depends on the day, and depends on the copper. Most, if not all bike cops i've met are ace, Traffic in cars is another matter. There are good and bad in every job. You pays your money and take your chances if you have a small plate.

I've found that answering the copper's questions clearly and frankly whilst standing there looking like a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo normally does the trick. A couple of years back I was heading to work in my boss' car and came across a line of cars in the overtaking lane being held up by someone at the front of the queue doing 65 and not pulling into the slow lane despite the fact that the nearest car to overtake was several hundred metres away and barely closing. After a minute or so of seeing that we weren't getting any nearer I got pissed off and just jumped into the slow lane and undertook about 7 cars and sped off touching 100mph (dumb, I know). After about 15 secs I noticed this car had come with me and was now right up my arse. I figured that it was one of the cars who I'd undertaken (I was right on that point) who was pissed off and wanted to prove a point. I didn't speed up, just overtook a couple of cars that were in the slow lane and pulled in and dropped down to about 75. The car pulled level and seemed to be goading me to go faster. I didn't bite and then the car dropped back and behind me. Then the flashing blues came on

I pulled off at the next ramp, found a decent spot to stop and got out of the car. Got a bollocking, confirmed that he'd clocked me at 98mph. Asked whose the car was, where was I heading, informed me that at this speed and with the dangerous undertake this should be going to court etc. I just stood there agreeing, nodding and looking as sheepish as I could muster. Once he'd finished talking he paused for a sec and said "Right. Get back in your car, get on your way and bloody calm down"

    Couldn't bloody believe it.

Having been a copper take my word for it, if you come across a hitler type swallow your pride and let him have his power trip, in fact make sure he gets it, the more submissive you are (within reason) the better. Once they get what they want psychologically they will leave you alone. Fortunately most coppers are not total cunts like a few minority ones that give all the others a bad name... Im not on the job any longer but can tell you that when I was working with a power tripper they would be nice as pie to me and within a mili second they could switch on members of the public and then go back to being lovely again to other officers. Sad really, I think they were dissalusioned with their jobs.

Anyway back to the point... be nice=save your money, they are dying for you to say something out of line.

No problem for me Carlo. I start feeling guilty if a copper's just walking down the street towards me. Lol.
